Well then I think our squad is easier turn around then a squad with Loltrell a must keep at the moment.I think he likes them both or he wouldn't be going there.

Old sexy eyesWe should get the guy coaching the Burleigh Bears in as an assistant
How long does he want to wait.No offence to the Eels, but I doubt that Ryles will be coming. Every impression he gives off is he's waiting to Bellamy to leave the Storm. Yes he may have to wait till 2026 before that happens, but he's young enough and probably in the box seat to take over when Bellamy decides to up stumps. He knows their systems, and the players and officials all know him.
If the comp was even you'd expect to make that many grand finals in that time. There's fifty grand finalists in 25 years, and 1/16 of 50 is about three. We have made 3 grand finals in 2 and a half decades. Must be pretty well resourced.
It's true, but clubs grow stronger and weaker, and ten years can tell you more about a club's current resourcing than the fifteen years before that. In the past ten years we've seen twenty grand finalists and they are distributed like this:Only a handful of clubs have made more in that time.
Club | Grand finals ('14-'23) |
---|---|
Panthers | 4 |
Storm | 4 |
Broncos | 2 |
Cowboys | 2 |
Rabbitohs | 2 |
Roosters | 2 |
Bulldogs | 1 |
Eels | 1 |
Raiders | 1 |
Sharks | 1 |
Hed do a Ricky mate. As soon as The Storm job was available hed run back to Mummy. How long does he want to wait.
Bellamy has said for about 8 years he is thinking about retiring but keeps going.
Its clearly a tactic to milk more $$$ of Melbourne.
"We have the opportunity to provide all the resources to the football program that a coach would ever need"
If Ryles and his family are comfortable in Melbourne and he is earning enough and he trusts he is next in line for the Storm job, then why would he leave? How long does he want to wait.

Would you want the gig seriously its like replacing Don Bradman whoever the next coach of Melbourne is..

Point well made but hes there for a reason after knocking back The Dragqueens.Would you want the gig seriously its like replacing Don Bradman whoever the next coach of Melbourne is.
Your on a hiding to nothing as basically anything but a top 4 spot is a failure. The expectations that Bellamy has set is nearly impossible to replicate.
Has there ever been a coach/manager successful after taking over from someone who has had so much success over a long period time like Bellamy.
One of the biggest sporting clubs in Manchester United proved after Sir Alex Ferguson that it was even impossible for them.
Brisbane couldnt replace Wayne Bennett after 20 years - Ivan Henjak lasted 2 years despite making a prelim final in his debut season.
I suspect JD got the punt at the time purely because they knew we weren't going to be far behind.Timeline fits tbh.
I reckon the board gave a deliberate leak to SMH about passing on Bennett from a third party at that board meeting as a deliberate throw away to get media off the scent.
So they could quietly pursue Bennett in the background.
It makes more sense now then it did 3 weeks ago.
Unfortunately i think they were too late & should have been done way earlier before Souths got involved but is what it is.
Slater may have something to say about thatNo offence to the Eels, but I doubt that Ryles will be coming. Every impression he gives off is he's waiting to Bellamy to leave the Storm. I doubt it. Souths were shithouseI suspect JD got the punt at the time purely because they knew we weren't going to be far behind.
I agree, he would've got punted soon enoughI doubt it. Souths were shithouse
There has been a shortlist since mid-2022.6.50 min mark, coaching option questions….Jim goes “we’re in …” then quickly changes to “what we are looking…”
could have been an accident,….but think it suggests they may have already identified who they want….and in discussions with them…and had to quickly change his answer…
Would be surprised if after what has happened, they don’t already have a short list …..
You'd imagine the people at the top of that list are no longer available. There has been a shortlist since mid-2022.
I call BS the club was talking to Benny prior to the weekend and they had decided to sack BA on May 1...
Scissors paper rock to decide if the club have been working on life after BA or not. There has been a shortlist since mid-2022.
