I think he trusts senior players he shouldn’t. Same as Demetriou.

That’s where Bennett shines. He recognises and encourages leadership in players. It’s why the Dolphins are able to perform better than the strength of their squad would suggest they should. He wasn’t able to recruit a great team, but he brought in excellent leaders.

I’ve often wondered about his love affair with Darius though. Never struck me as a great leader.

Brad Arthur ate a shit sandwich for lunch every day for this club. He dragged it from the cellar. How we made a GF with what he had is a coaching success on its own. I agree his time was well and truly up but let’s not forget the contribution he made when we were at rock bottom with salary cap scandals etc.

Thanks Brad for your efforts. You weren’t the one but you were the one we needed at the time.
