The media love to let people know how serious depression is unless there is a story in it, they don't really give a f#*k! They don't give a shit how low a person is, as long as they get their readers they don't are at all. I think they would just love someone to knock themselves off so they can fill the pages with memories and obituaries.
Thanks the good Lord I survived my own depression and suicidal thoughts but I can't imagine what it's like for someone living in the spotlight and these scum just digging up anything they can find wether truth or not, just to serve their own self interest.

he probably withdrew it to pay for his rehab stay

Not what I meant. Put $1000 in the pokies and once it's all gone, you've lost $1000 bucks. But given a payout rate of 90+%, you've "gambled" something like 10 times that during the night.

You think he isn't a gambler?

Lol.

If I did think he was a gambler it wouldn't change my opinion of him as a person, or a footballer.

It is a completely legal activity which he can comfortably afford to do.

It is frightening that you would be so judgmental and critical of him professionally and personally based on a single media report about a completely legal activity.

There is every chance that if his account t was truly used in that manner that someone else was actually responsible for the bets anyway.

Even if there are his it makes no difference to his tacking or leadership or performances.

sorry ... I didn't mean the eye rolling for you - I meant it for the Telegraph

What's the security like at the betting agency, if Bourbon Bec has all the details even down to amounts and where they were placed. Another friggin leak to damage Keiron and the club, it's beyond a joke and all those who close their eyes to the agenda driven media and shock jocks, please explain

Who gives a shit what Foran spends his money on? If he spent all $1.2 million of his salary on gambling I know I wouldn't care. He's here to play football and do it well... if it doesn't effect that then it's no ones business but his own what he does with his money.

First question, how did he get $75k in his TAB account and what did he start with in the account to get it to $75k? Perhaps he started with $100, built it up to $75k and then lost it all. He's on $1.2 million a year, a $75k win and then losing it all would seem like a drop in the ocean to me...

Isn't Foran a great mentally strong character anyway? Why would anyone need to be concerned about the actions of someone who is of mentally strong character??

Yes it's amazing that a newspaper would want to report a story that people would be interested in.

I love how everyone takes what the media say is fact.

Probably is truth to it whatever, my issue is these leaks are getting beyond a joke now and when they start tarnishing the player group that is when I get severely worried, I can't even put it into words how much it is shitting me and we can't do anything about it.

He is 100% in "I don't give a crap" mode.

I don't know the circumstances behind the marriage breakdown, but after seeing his wife's instagram posts, she is doing her best to show that it's business as usual. One thing that men find it hard to cope with is a woman who openly presents herself as having quickly moved on, smiling and seemingly unaffected but it all. It tears us apart.

That's because they tend to move on well before the relationship officially ends. They are smart operators. You don't quit your job without another one lined up.

If there was no media coverage we wouldn't have a game let alone a team.

And Foran would be earning 60k a year.

So no sympathy from me about media coverage.

Well the club can help the situation. They can stop making stupid decision after stupid decision.

Agreed. The players are happy to earn 1 million a year knowing full well they are under extra scrutiny like other celebrities. They can't earn the big money (that comes becasue of the media) and then cry foul when the media hammers them for their poor decisions.

When signing his $1.2M contract, does he also forgo the right to privacy to all things in his life ?

You think he is the first footballer to be outed by the media with gambling issues and drug issues? He is not the first and won't be the last. These idiots need to know that when they make stupid choices the media finds out. In fact they have programs/education telling them just that. I'm not sure how much clearer it can be for them. If they aren't happy with that they are free to go and get a job like the rest of us away from the spotlight and the 6 or 7 figure contracts.

His mental health should not be front page news. But it's a sad reflection of society that it's always going to be unfortunately

If he's going to bet in telephone numbers in his own name why would he be surprised that one of dozens of people who work for peanuts at the place he bets in will tell someone?

It's not like it's his psychiatrist or lawyer breaching serious professional confidentiality.

I don't give a rats if he gambles.

But I can't profess much sympathy for public interest in him when he reaps massive rewards from that interest

I am starting to see a very similar situation to Sandow. Remember what players said about him? Remember what Cayless said? All seems so sadly familIar.

Sandow's only fatal flaw was that he didn't want to tackle. The rest were no worse than most other players.

The media had actually left the break up with his partner out of the news. It wasn't until his sister called the ambulance and he arrived at St Vincents due to issues with prescription drugs that this became a story.

And then, Leaving a rehab centre and blowing 75k the next day is not what you call a good decision either.
