Of course but this incident would suggest he isn't properly motivated, that's the point alcohol and mental problems don't mix well at all if he was focused and motivated on getting fit both physically and mentally he wouldn't be drinking at all. He could easily bounce back from this if he gets his personal life right or he could easily get much worse, if what Toovey said about his ongoing mental problems is true its pretty naïve to think this will just go away.
No one is saying this will all magically go away.
He can learn to deal with it. Busting up with your SO when you have two young kids can knock you around a lot, add on top of that an underlying condition, you get a pretty big reaction.
But it is something he can get past and learn to live with. It's equally naive to assume that he's broken forever because he had one bad incident.
Before you jump in and say "it's not just one incident" it kind of is. All the stuff that's been happening is a direct result of that, as I said before, fallout, for lack of a better term.
