There are renewed fears for Kieran Foran as reports surfaced on Friday that his partner called police after receiving a desperate phone-call from the Parramatta star last week.

The Daily Telegraph reports Foran was taken away for medical assessment on Friday 24 June.

&#8220;Police attended the Pacific Highway at Brooklyn on Friday 24 June following a concern for welfare,&#8221; a police spokesman told the Telegraph.

&#8220;A 25-year-old man was subsequently taken for a medical assessment.&#8221;

It is not known what Foran was doing or his exact whereabouts on the Pacific Highway when the police alledegly picked him up.

Foran, who is out for the rest of the NRL season with a shoulder injury, was later released by doctors.

The former Manly premiership winner has been stripped of the Eels captaincy after Parramatta management become concerned with the slow progress of his shoulder rehabilitation.

Earlier this season he attended a rehab clinic after allegedly overdosing on prescription medication.

It was later alleged by the Daily Telegraph that a betting account in Foran's name had lost up to $75,000 over a two hour period.

I think you aren't giving people enough credit. Many people here understand that mental health can be a very complex issue and they don't want to sink the boot in.

I didn't gloat you dickhead, nobody did. I just said it was more than just missing a rehab session.

I said at the time of Foran's signing that he had no idea of the media scrutiny that he would now become apart of now that he had moved to Parra.

But even I had no idea that he would be subjected to the level of scrutiny that he has been.

I'd be surprised if he's at the club next year. The only real top gun that can deal with the level of scrutiny of being a superstar and playing for Parra is The Plane.

The Plane is also the only player in my opinion that comes close to being able to justify $1.2 million a season under the salary cap.
