No, you should have played the Broncos in the GF rather than the Storm.

This is the Broncos who lost 40-10 1 week earlier

Mate, at least we got close to the cheating team. Oh, and in which sport do they fail to name a winner if the current champion has been eliminated due to cheating? Don't they just give it to whomever was good enough to place 2nd?

Should we strip the Broncos and Manly of their premierships then? Because without the Storm they may not have won their GF's?

Actually should probably strip the Tigers (05) and Dragons (10) as well because the Storm were cheating in 05 too and in 2010 they were playing for nothing and there were a few games where the Storm didn't show up which affected the table.

So really we should just wipe everything out from 05 to 10.

Look if the rumors are true that NRL has said board stand down or lose 28pts and the board doesn't stand down i urge everyone to get to the AGM next month and voice your displeasure.

Guarantee 1 thing my friend..

100% of the room will do that and if Bart turns up it'll be 99.9999999% of the room.

Really? Kowtow to the NRL & media without so much as an explanation? We all know that if points are deducted board members won't get a word in edge ways at AGM about the matter. And that's really disappointing. I for one would rather know the truth from the dribble being spouted daily

Regardless of the amount of points (if any) taken from us I would be more than willing to consider voting again for the chairman and the other board members.
You would be foolish not to just be balanced about it and weigh their merits against the merits of any other candidate. What if the other options were, say, Ray Price, Denis Fitzgerald and Roy Spagnolo (or any of his friends (if any))??? The decision in that case surely would not be easy.
Sure I would take into consideration the points lose (if any) and any finding of deceit (if any) or poor management (if any). But I would also then look at what good things they have brought into the club. Great recruitment, solid coach.
Lets not let emotion condemn our future again as the disastrous 3P election did back in the day.

The problem is, unless we get an independant board, whoever gets voted in at any stage is going to get whiteanted through the media and this shit circus will continue until the arseholes realise they are only hurting the club and walk away, which it appears egos wont allow

independent boards the NRL has appointed aren't doing too well

the Titans board still has people on it that were there when they got busted for salary cap cheating

What makes you think an "Independent" board won't be whiteanted?

Haven't the past 2 boards technically been Independent?

Independent from who (or what) is what I'm asking?

Yeah but anyone on the board that isn't one of the gaggle of merkins trying to get back on board are going to be targeted by that gaggle, they aren't going to go away, the current board weren't part of that gaggle (as far as I know) They'll just become the newest "Faction" i.e. they'll become the current board the ex-merkins will be chasing after.

Right?

Clearly there is an agenda to remove the board, which has little or nothing to do with their level of (in)competence.

Feeding that by demanding or voting for their removal, with the goal being to create stability and cease the white anting makes no f**king sense whatsoever. It defies the simplest of logic.

The reasoning being, it rewards those who have set such an agenda, by handing them exactly what it is they want.

Should the NRL come down on us with a heavy points penalty, particularly if such a penalty is framed as avoidable should the board resign, members should think long and hard about which way they would vote. For mine, should the board be removed under such circumstances, we consign ourselves to more of the same or perhaps worse, ad infinitum.

unless the nrl has proof that board members are complicit in the salary cap scandal i would think twice about tying our penalty to the board standing down

this is a sporting competition not a third world dictatorship if the board is guilty, fire and ban them if not don't blackmail the club into accepting demands because they are backed into a corner

I will vote for whoever pi55es off the emperor off the most, stands to reason that is the current board

As for the comment that Raaaay posted re Watmough and BA! I can support Avenger X 1,000, I have known BA and his friends for over 25 years. He campaigned hard to get Watmough's signature, the biggest obstacle was the manager football admin who kept saying he wasn't worth it etc etc, in the end Sharp intervened and got it done

One of the many reasons there are issues, and the coaching staff are removed from the football office is the attitude of the person responsible for the salary cap and contracts to what the coach wants. Nothing else

The so called leak from someone connected to the club is pretty obvious, and that Raaay keeps repeating this nonsense is so transparent.

Thanks, I think I can guess who it is then. But really, was Watmough worth it?

I'll be voting for the current board as a big 'F You' to the media/old emperors agenda.

They can all go and get f**ked.

I think the majority of supporters and members can see through all the bullshit and see it for what it is.

I reckon it will have the reverse effect come election time to what the pricks feeding the media are hoping for.

Don't know how you qualify worth, he certainly showed toughness and also line speed which looks to have helped set up some of our younger players

That he enjoyed BAs coaching again may have helped other players across the line, but think maybe his biggest asset was showing how to play tough and busted, something you possibly need to be shown first hand. We seem to have benefitted from his time at the club in this regard

For mine it should also depend upon the level of guilt and/ or complicity, take the Watmough TPA for example, if it is found that the relationship between Black Citrus and Sports cube is in and of its self enough to damn the board, I'd find that rather laughable, relationships are a huge part of business, that's how shit works.

However if it is found the board knowingly condoned or initiated an over priced contract to Black Citrus for the supply of services to the club, with the over payment being redirected through Sportscube and funnelled on to Watmough as a TPA as part of his remuneration for signing with the club, well that there would be another matter altogether.

I think if it came down to a vote on the board staying or going irregardless of us losing points, i think enough people have been convinced, pushed into, brainwashed (whichever you prefer) into believing that this board has to go and unfortunately I think will go. Reading social media sites has me convinced that enough crap has been slung for enough of it to stick.
