I had a thought, but I have no idea how to carry it out.

We write an open letter to anyone currently trying to destabilise the club intending on gaining (or re-gaining) control of the club, that we, as the membership of the Eels, will not stand for these tactics, and no former administrators (or anyone, for that matter) will ever be rewarded for dragging our club through the mud for their own personal gain.

We could word that to direct it straight to DF, but I don't know if that would be a good idea, we could all sign it and try and get it published somewhere, to make it clear what the membership thinks about all this, with the hope that it ends the factional garbage that really is hurting our club.

It probably wouldn't work, but does anyone else think something like that is worth a shot? Do you think the papers would even look at it? It would make a great story.

Eels is fine. It differentiates us from the procession of repetitive and overused bullshit Americanised names and is a definite talking point. Two things that are critical to any successful marketing.

The fact that our club has been shit at marketing has nothing to do with our name.

The world does not need another team called the Rams.

The whole point of calling us the Eels was because the Eel is a very commonly found (if not indigenous) animal around these parts, no?

Not a lot of Rams running around Parra, if you get my drift..

Here's my final query on this matter

What were DA and Shoebox doing over the past few months and longer , spoke to one of them at the leagues club while having a coffee about a month ago, he was confident there were no issues with the salary cap. obviously didn't qualify it, so assume he meant now, but if they had done their own internal audit as expected, why weren't any questionable actions brought forward

These leaks etc all appear from a couple of years ago, fanned by the media and our friends, Raaay, Kent ( not the way it should be spelt) , Massoud, Prozensko etc

if Weidler is prepared to post something even a little positive, means all is not as printed

Raaay saying 26 points and a $1million fine, wonder where he got that info from, Caesar??

who takes over if board steps down? does the NRL install a board til next election? they can't run the leagues club but.
Do we have to have a election now if they do?
what if the same people that were the problem in the past run and no ones else?

Which is what I have been saying to the sack the board brigade for ages. We need a strategy to get long term stability.

Fitzy the saviour CEO is not what we want. Worse, more puppets from both camps and we end up with more of the same.

Unless the board has been found of something that is clearly cheating rather then incompetence, I think the NRL should just appoint 1-2 independent directors with a yearly audit.

Did the NRL force the Dogs / warriors / storm
Boards to step down ? Or was there just some token resignations?

This is what I don't understand. We were given the opportunity to admit all our previous sins, and, provided we agreed to implement all the independent auditor recommendations, were given a suspended 4 point penalty. I suspect this was because our cap for 2015 and 2016 is fully compliant.

So either we didn't know what the media informant knew, or we chose to try and hide it, or the media stories are bs based on selective parts of the full story (eg. The Semi story). I wonder which it will turn out to be?

OMG they have outdone themselves. Quotes from "a chairman" from another club. They even have a fan poll about our punishment. Options are 4 points, 6-10 points and the lot.

Judge News Ltd have spoken.

Rival NRL club bosses weigh in on Parramatta Eels salary cap issue

What?!?!? Other Clubs want all our points stripped? No s**t.

Fans who know only what they've read in the DT also want our points stripped? Of course they do, from what they've read our board consists of Hitler, Mao, Stalin & Mugabe.

I guess teams have realised we're a threat to the premiership. Let's hope the NRL doesn't buckle under the pressure.

Look if the rumors are true that NRL has said board stand down or lose 28pts and the board doesn't stand down i urge everyone to get to the AGM next month and voice your displeasure.

can you imagine if you were on trial for murder and in the middle of the trial you read a poll in the paper about your punishment?

a. 4 years
b. 6 years
c. hang the merkin

it wouldn't exactly fill you with confidence of a fair outcome would it?
d. innocent doesn't even come into consideration

Cast you mind back to April 2010.........Parramatta are the theoretical premiers by default but are not granted the title.
In a truly honourable manner, Hiney declares that we shouldn't win a premiership that way.
No such magnanimous gestures from any of our critics today.
I'm proud to be literally AN EEL FOR LIFE no matter what!

Good point. Surely this kind of stuff can help us if this ever goes to court (if we lose points).
