What I think would be more effective, rather than begging the NRL not to dock points, or whatever, but to ask them come out and be clear on what the Eels are being investigated for, and to publicly reprimand the media for a) trying to influence the NRL and b) regurgitating old news and bringing one of its clubs into disrepute, and the NRL and the sport by extension.
Or something to that effect.
Also, ask them to confirm if they are attempting to remove our board by holding points to ransom, and voice your displeasure at the practice if it is true, and that it is the clubs members who decide who runs our club, not the NRL, and if changes need to be made we, the members, will make them. If the NRL is displeased with our current leadership, please feel free to let us know, so we can factor that into our decision process when choosing our new leadership.
