Spot on, if we are spoooooooo over the cap like the Media are saying we should have our side cap compliant ASAP for the fairness of the competition.

I say they should strip points. We take them to court and win. Beating every merkin, organisation and obstacles in our way to the premiership. :D:D

It just seems weird, if we're over the cap, how can we play week in week out against other teams. Wouldn't that mean the other teams are disadvantaged. The NRL needs to make a call asap.

I thought it was for previous years besides Watmough which isnt really giving us an advantage, oh and Hoppa maybe

Exactly

When Melbourne were caught the nrl gave the punishments and the investigation was not complete and continued afterwards. Now the fact that this has been going on for 6 weeks now you would think if were caught cheating like Melbourne we would of been stripped our points by now. Which makes me think they don't have anything on us yet.

You only have to look at Kent and this media circus a few weeks back he was saying we should be stripped of points because of what's happened. Now he is saying If we are found cheating. I thought these were the clowns that a reporting this nonsense as true. Now it's looking more and more likely it's not.

The simple question should be in relation to stripping of points if the 2016 team is are they over the cap? If not well then don't strip them of any points.

I disagree, if we have breached again SINCE the audit and guidelines were put in place - and by breached, I mean concocted illegal contracts again, then we fully deserve the (suspended) 4 point penalty.

If not, then the past needs to be put to bed, issue a further 4 point suspended penalty, more fines, and get on with it.

The biggest problem seems to be chocs tpa's. We know tpas need to be at arms length, and that clubs need to inform the NRL, any potential conflicting tpa's. Is this enough to warrant a breach?????.

I guess it would depend on the amount of tpa's given to choc.

But how could we have breached since the audit? There's been no new contracts signed or registered, since we were declared 2016 cap compliant... We had Schubert in the joint makingt sure everything is compliant as well.

The only thing that seems to be of current interest in all the media hype is a discovery about the company behind Watmough's TPA - on a contract that was signed, registered (and examined) before the audit. (And Watmough hasnt even taken the field this year, so any concerns about assembling a squad with an unfair playing advantage are void.)

If the NRL is pursuing our admin under other, code of conduct concerns, that's different to systematically cheating the salary cap, and imo shouldn't result in a loss of points.... And you'd think it would need to be about something different that just following the way all other clubs seem to run their operations too.

The Bulldogs were also going to be in breach in the following season (2003) by a considerable amount (the same amount as 2002). The NRL allowed them to fix things and they subsequently played the 2003 season without any penalty even though they had assembled the side illegally. If Parra isn't over the cap this year I cannot see how they would deduct any points.

I think the main issue will be at what point in time we knew of a potential problem, and what we did about it. If there's a paper trail of conscious deception extending beyond the old CEO, then we have a problem, particularly if that behaviour extends after last year's ruling. That's clearly a breach. It's pretty hard for us outsiders, as the NRL don't publish their 'full' cap rules. So, we don't know precisely how broadly they define 'associates' of the club etc.

News reporting chick on Fox just regurgetated the media talk

Said verdict handed down within 10 days
Fine will be between 10 and 12 points ... (ummmmm :-k, 11!)
Point deduction could be lessened to 4 or 6 if key staff stand down

So they have already made a decision but are going to wait 10 days to announce it??

Bloody speculation from the media again

I know

Tho i could imagine it could be the case that they have figured it out, will then need to spend time writing it all up and will negotiate with the parra board .... if any of that is true

Yea, if they did in fact come up with this penalty this afternoon then I'd say the next week or so is to allow board members consider standing down to lessen the penalty. And if this is the case they better f**king do it!

Perfect opptunity for Hindmarsh to stick up for the club and say "why don't we just wait for the NRL to tell us" but instead he went along with those muppets.

Yep.
I really don't think some of these so called football "experts" are very learned. I'm sure most of them don't do as much reading of issues or research as many of us.
They just read the Daily Terrorgraph and listen to Hadley, then form their views.
Ray Warren is a perfect example. Just listen to the Saturday morning show on Triple M. He has no idea about most subjects, yet still has an opinion on everything. Richard Freedman rips him a new one every week, but is too polite to embarrass him.
The same goes for most of these ex-footballers who have god knows how, landed jobs in the media.
They are really so far up themselves, that they couldn't be bothered doing any real research to factualise their opinions.

:clap::clap:

100% Suity.

I can't listen to triple M when it comes to the footy. Their footy broadcasts act as a mouth piece for the Telegraph.
