Just had a quick check, pretty much only storm / sharks / dogs / roosters aren't carrying a player on their bench this week that can play hooker. A couple carry a utility that can cover hooker.

Pritchard is too small to be a first string hooker in the modern game. His durability issues show that. Don't get me wrong, I like the kid, he certainly plays above his weight but that's part of the problem. You just can't have a 75kg hooker in the modern game IMO.

Stats I saw said 75kg. Maybe an outdated profile, but 90kg has him bigger than Peats, McCullough, Luke, Ennis....he's noticeably smaller than them so I'd be shocked if he's 90!

I would've though it all depends on what he was asking for.

It will be interesting to find out what are BA's plans for our hooking position next year.

Reckon Kaysa + IDG would be roughly same amount as Peats by himself. I reckon this has worked out better for Peats as well, especially if he can really bump up his market value by end of next season.

That makes sense. bringing on a fresh hooker can help us up the pace mid game as well, forcing the other team to up their pace to keep up, which can lead to an attacking advantage..

I've always felt before that having 2 hookers was a waste of a bench space, but I guess it has its merits..

If you watch our games this year, Peats tackles his heart out.

Then you hardly see him run from dummy half and you don't see him pressuring the kickers, so the kickers get alot of time to kick.

Once IDG comes on, the defensive linespeed increases and he starts pressuring the kickers giving them less time.

It is a position that does alot of the dirty stuff. Following each play, leading the line speed, pressuring kickers, 1st contact in tackles.

IDG's service is ok, it can be erratic at times but he has a better running game than Peats.

He's got a little pin head like Pauli Pauli, but like Pauli he is also big around the legs and hips. He's not short either.
