In reality Greenberg was lucky that we had a former MP of the opposite side of the current Government. I doubt they would have stepped in as they did had Tanya Gadiel had been of their own side.

Yeah.

It seems like we got the memo that said "be dodgy, everyone else is". We just forgot to read the bit at the end:

"P.S. But be smart about it. Discretion is key."
Well THEY never actually caught us... it took a dibber dobber

But yes, we were clearly the dumbest cheats of all time

If the Board-approved appeal document contained the same level of reasoning that Gadiel's published article does about "the other side of the story" - i.e. basically whinge about getting caught and blame others - then it's no wonder that Max's independent legal advice told him to call the whole embarassing debacle off, draw a line in the sand and move forward.

Tanya has raised issues that most have us have been saying for ages. Guilty or not, she has raise pertinent questions that deserve answers.

Will be interesting to see if Max is his own man or if he caves in to political pressure or if the 2017/18 cap will be used to make him drop the case.

I suspect that Max will drop the case and we will be left with innuendo and gossip about what really happened in the background.

If that's on the table, and by dropping the appeal we get a clear cap from now on, drop it like a hot potato.
Totally agree. the only thing is don't think we'd ever know if that was the case as it would show the NRL has something they don't want coming out so they would make sure it all stay confidential and the convenient leaks will stop immediately

I'll tell you one thing, if the NRL want to keep it quiet, no amount of jumping up and down and writing op ed pieces in the papers is going to bring it out.

Unless someone like Kate gets her claws into the story then it won't go anywhere. News are only interested in looking after their puppet and, so, if a real journalist doesn't take an interest then the NRL will win and the dodginess of Greenburg will prevail.

You made that sound pretty exciting, actually. Like a movie or something.

I really want the good guys to win now.

Not sure how correct this is and could be bullshit. But just read a tweet suggesting Four corners may be doing a show/report/investigating on us.

Would be interesting if true.

as long as its balanced and investigates the actions of the NRL, it would be worth a look
