Parra should get rid of a few players and then bring in Izzy, then bring in a few youngsters from Toyota Cup and pay them 20 cents each to make up the 25 man squad

The ARLC is amatuer because Parra canoot find a way to squeeze Iggy under their cap? Yeah right.

Izzy has showed his true colours, he has just been making big money shit talking our game for two years, why should the ARLC go out of their way to get Israel back to league when he has shown he is not loyal to our game, and will walk away if you pay him enough.

If Parra can get him under the cap good on them, and him. All these Parra fans acting like we need Folau can go f**k themselves.

Oh FFS we're not risking losing him. There are teams with the capspace. St George has room. The Warriors have room. Dogs always have room. Many teams have room. Parra will end up finding a way to get him, for his WHOLE salary, but if they don't there are other options that don't result in him playing in another country or code.
 Are you Schubert's bag carrier?

The real issue here is how f**king Schubert thinks he can value a player. So many different things go into a player's value, and just because he left the game as a star doesn't mean he's still worth 400k after spending two years turning himself into a stick insect. He could quite conceivably be only reserve grade standard when he returns.

It's like, for instance, if a star player is seriously injured (or a string of injuries) and is out of the game for two years. Is Schubert going to say he still has to be paid 600k a year because that's what he was worth before he had triple knee reconstructions or had a shoulder rebuilt a couple of times?

It's an absolute farce. If Izzy wants to play for 150k, provided there's nothing going on under the table, he can go for it.

In regards to valuing a player.... I vote they are using the same method the NRL Dream Team does.... Doesn't seam to take reality into account for many things...

Why should the rules be changed to accomodate someone who turned thier back on Rugby League as a f**king PUBLICITY STUNT? Israel Folau whored himself out to the AFL when he knew that doing so would hurt the NRL.

And if, as others have said, he's not going to be much good in his first year back then let him go off and play Rugby Union for a year and then come back to his precious Eels when they can fit him under the cap.

No way they can let this happen.

What a poor ran club. Trying something like that on screams of desperation.

Can't wait to Hoppas deal at 800k kicks in.

800k package deal for him and his brother ya dipstick

Hoppa will probably be heavily back ended with his salary

If Folau wants to play his first year in NRL with us for 110k than thats his business. No one should put a restraint on a player for what they want to do.

i reckon we will punt some guys

As for the J.Morris thing, I am not sure what you are getting at. Some suggest we lost J.Morris because Gaz didn't go to French Rugby early enough, however Gaz and J.Moz play on different sides of the field. J.Moz was firmly entrenched at the Dogs and wasn't in the picture when Gaz came back as far as I am aware.

my bad  too early for me when i wrote that.... I was blaming gaz for him going in the first place, not the coming back bit. I remember Slippery senior saying J would have stayed if gas had pissed off earlier freeing up cap space. as for the "identity" thing i 've read that as well, but i also remember a year of so after J had gone to the dogs he was used to try and lure Brett there as well

Agreed. This seems a typical Ricky Stuart led media charade/stunt. Time and time again this bloke is involved in whinging about something to get an exemption/refereeing interpretation for his mob.

Should not be allowed to happen. The clubs that have room to move under the cap should be the only club allowed to go after him. Its not like he has a long term affiliation with the joint, he's never played with them, never even been remotely linked with them... until now.

The former AFL player wants to play for one club, Parramatta, but is understood to be frustrated with the delay.

Suck it up Izzy! Maybe NRL fans are frustrated that you took off for two seasons to willingly promote a rival code and assisted it in attempting to wage war on RL in it's own heartland

Is he the only one? Many coaches do this either for recruitment or in post match conferences des is a pro at it

And why arnt we allowed to pursue him? We will most likely lose players to get him and if so then that's our business. Just coz we are tight for cash doesn't mean we can't go after him if we are able to let guys go

But at least we are openly honest with it unlike 2 other clubs who deceived their way to success

So why can't Parra pay him a lot less next year and back end his deal, when Issy himself agrees to it? Who agrees on each player's minimum cap value? It's not like Parra are going to win the comp next year, even if they have Folau playing for free.

My main beef with the whole thing is how can SchuDerp just determine how much Falonk is worth, 400k he reckons for a guy who has been starving himself for two years and it will probably take a year easy to get back to anywhere near where he was if ever. How many other Winger's or centres are on 400k per season??? I can understand people being pissed if we want to bend the cap to get him and i would hope we don't do for a guy who i always thought was overated.

Yeh I don't understand why he is valued at the value as he left when he is nowhere near in condition for league and has been out for 2 years. Most of the union converts came back for less. If folau wants to take a pay cut then it should be fine. Wonder if hayne or thurston will take a cut to stay at their respective clubs next year and see what Schubert does then.

He is either doing this as a punishment to folau for leaving in the first place or he hates parra (first izzy then hindys book under the cap lol)

Interesting to see if q.cooper ends up at roosters and for how much

Lose the players first, clear the space, and then pursue him. The club should not be asking for or expecting an exemption to be clear to breach the cap.

Thing is mate when he first left gws both eels and folau agreed to him playing 2013 at 110k then increase his salary each year. Folau was happy to do it till Schubert stepped in and decided he was valued at 400k

We already let esi tonga and horo go which frees up possibly 220-250k as horo was on overs

So really we were fine going after him. I'd say all this article is to put pressure on the NRL to get him back in at a lesser value. If we have to lose more players then ok because there are a couple who we don't need

Israel Folau can go f**k himself. He turned his back on Rugby League so no favours should be given to anyone just to bring him back. Sign him for $1 otherwise get the f**k out of here.
You are so full of shit, what about all these other clowns that have come back, you illiterates are so predictable in your responses!!

Which other clowns left the NRL to participate in a publicity stunt designed to undermine the NRL and then came crawling back, dickhead?

Israel Folau was signed to the AFL as a slap in the face of the NRL, and to promote AFL in the GWS area.

f**k him and f**k you.
