As I posted in another thread, it's undoubtedly the weakest team we have fielded for a while.

Still, I'll say it now that regardless of the players, with the right coaching and if they put in, with a few being young juniors, we could still do well.

I'm happy if we compete for the 80 minutes and never give up, to be honest.
I'm not expecting anything.

Weakest Parra backline i have seen in a while, pack looks strong even with Poore and Fui out. Good luck to the Parra new boys in what will be a tough game against a very good Warriors team.

whatuira not even named in the wenty team and no update of him being injured either...he will probably play with walker moving to the wing....or taking walkers spot. hoping etu is the one that misses out

The first 3 or 4 weeks are an extended trial anyway, I wouldn't be rushing out to get my valium subscription just yet.

I think we can compete with that pack.

Rewind back to '98 we were genuine contenders with a weak backline.

A hell of a lot depends on how well we defend out wide so we arent chasing too many points.

Good to see Ryan Morgan in there, didnt see that coming.

Also pleased to see Lassalo starting, hopefully a sign Kearney is willing to give young blokes a chance before the season starts going pearshaped!!

Perhaps...

When a coach at the start of pre season traing says to the squad "all spots are open"* and "whomever puts in the most and really tells me they want the spot will get the spot"**, he loses all credibility with his players if he doesn't carry through with such threats/promises.
If this is the case and Etu and co busted their butts at practice then kudos to SK for picking them.

* No. 6 is exempt.
** See point above.

Well that is a shock side. Ryan Morgan??

I hope he is better than he was in Toyota Cup. Good to see confidence in the younger players and without seeing trials I can only assume these are the guys that stood up and had big impacts.

guys, honestly Etu Uaisele is the worst player running around.

can't believe this guy got picked, I have never rated him and watched him in the trial and if anything he has got worse.

horrible idea to include him, hicks would have been a much better option.

So coach choosing more expensive Keating to less expensive Mitchell. I liked whatever I saw of Mitchell last year. Much better than Keating ! Guess time for Mitchell to find a new club !

Why stop there? If I were him I would retire and become a bus driver, based on being snubbed for round 1. Surely a decent 10 minutes in a mickey mouse game sures up a starting spot.

Mitch was sh*t in the trials, didn't put his hand up at all..

Um, played for the Allstars and looked good, missed our NZ trial.

Got about 20 mins with a 3rd string team supporting him against the Tigers

Wasn't even picked for the last trial vs Penrith

Unsure how you can put your hand up when you get 20 mins in 3 trials........

May be warranted in other areas but you can't say that he was "sh*t" as you put it based on 20 mins!

Lazy trainer, bad attitude, i could cop but other than that, doesn't appear he got a fair go imo......how many chances does MK deserve? He was awful last year and was not impressive in the 2 trials i watched!!

I wouldn't be surprised to see Ben Smith playing in the centres at some stage during this match.

Sometimes i think you watch entirely different games then everyone else......

He was a standout in NYC imo......

I thought he went ok too in the Tigers trial......glad he is getting a chance

Morgan went ok in the trial against the Tigers but it's only a trial. Let's not dye him until he puts a few games together.

As for Mitchell IMO he was not given a fair go in the trials only 20 mins all up. And when he did play that 20 nins the game and the team were chopped and changed a million times.

Anyway back to reality the team we have on paper should realistically challenge for the spoon. The only we have is if teams underestimate us..... Yeah it looks as though it will b a very very tough year.
