Seems to me, everyone needs to chill out a bit.

Here’s a joke to cheer everyone on @murraymob bus up:

This “hug and smug” moment is brought to you by the eels forum.

Sharing is caring!

Oh, please, don't do that.

Thanks Di for you're kind words. I'll be back at some stage. I need a break. I expressed my feeling about Hindy111's posting.

I didn't expect it to become a childlike chorus of ' but he's my friend' type of behaviour. But here we are.

I'm not 'sensitive' MartieLang. I'm quite capable of looking after my self within the hurley burley of this forum. Nor am I looking for for a 'yellow brick road Murraymob.

So before everyone starts lining up for sides I'll take a break.

See you all in a while.

Ivan looked like Blakey after that trial mobsterminator! He should chill as well.

Trials are trials, players disco dancing away-trying not to get injured or suspended.

Wave at the cat via the camera watching them at home eating whiskas in front of the telly.

I’ll get you Butler!

I don’t like Ivan etc, I’m the first to criticise him for breathing in our oxygen, but even I can’t whinge over a dumb trial.

Not softening up, just being realistic.

How can you say the hunger is gone?
We don't have the pain of a grand final loss fuelling super human efforts to win against all odds.

Im not saying we dont want to win. But there's just no way to bottle the hunger we had last year after 2020.

That pain made us do things we normally couldn't. It's gone now though. Without that pain we don't win last year. Not with a busted roster. That was a huge part of why we were the best

Nonsense.
We made the GF the year before without any pain of losing.
We are just a good footy side that will get better and better.

I don’t buy into this garbage at all. The players are all competitive M-Fers and want to win everything.

You're delusional if you don't think the pain of a grand final loss contributed to our grand final win last year.

Yes every team always wants to win. But we clearly wanted it more than any other team last year and were driven by the pain of 2020. The players have said as much. Look at how busted we were in that finals series and how many times we pulled off miracle try saving plays to win tight games purely on defence.

We just cant possibly have that level of desire again this year. They would want another competition win of course. But the pain of losing is long gone now and replaced with the joy and satisfaction of having won.

Oh how romantic.

How many stories are scattered across the NRL of players playing busted through the final series and into the GF. They do it because it’s what every team is busting their us to achieve and f**king hard to do.

The Hunger to be the best is what motivates every player in the NRL, they wouldn’t make it into first grade otherwise.

The players have also said that they are twice as hungry to go back to back for the fans.

I haven't seen any of the trial games, is fitness an issue?

How many players returned to training early in this off-season? Having little or no holidays in an effort to be better?

From the looks of that Eels trial quiet a lot of our grand final squad look to be on holidays still.

The best gauge for effort and hunger to win is defensive efforts. I just can't see us going close to defending like we did in 2021. If it wasn't for the Origin period we would have barely averaged a try a game against us.

We sit an almost impossible to match standard of effort and defence. I can't see us going close to matching it. I would love to be wrong.

Plausible although I think reading Ivan’s mind he is leaning towards Jaemon as the utility. Dare I say it, Tyrone is a bigger loss than many would care to admit.

’Incoming’.

Some people on here only see the flashy.

He will be a big loss

What hurts is sides like us being top heavy with so many elite players.

No NSW Cup hurts but with game time they will improve

And why the Panthers want concessions for developing players. It all comes down to balancing the salary cap.
