That's right, get some non footy people on there and the $6m grant could be cut to $1m just like that.
Can we stop discussing all 7 of 3p getting on the board as there is no way on earth it will happen:
1. as per the constitution all members need to be advised of a special resolution 21 days prior to the agm. this means it would have been included in the annual report.
2. if it is changed down the track it will only be for future elections, it cant change a result after it has been declared.
3. the new board dont take over until the end of the agm so they arent going to be able to embarass themselves by calling for a vote that is illegal.
end of story. lets focus on eels smashing the cowboys and the new directors looking like geniuses even though they havent taken office.
Well said. Finally some reality to this thread. Whatever happens in the future you cannot retrospectively change the result of the election that operated under the constitution in place at the time.
If you want to change it in the future, you'd probably need a special general meeting, which would cost a heap to stage at a club already struggling financially - not very responsible simply to soothe the egos of those who missed out.
If this motion is moved at the AGM, the Chairman should quite rightly rule it out of of order and move on. As a member, I would want 21 days notice of such an important change to the constitution of my club and see the opposing arguments in black and white before making up my mind.
Remember, this has been in place since the club started, not another Fitzy conspiracy theory. The way some things read on this forum, it seems he'll soon be blamed for the outbreak of swine 'flu.
