So English fans what did we learn from this match? What players should stay and who should go?

Sounds like Myler's kicking game was ordinary.
A good kicking game will be the difference between England smashing a team like Fiji or only just winning, ala PNG in 08

For the "fringe" players, Mossop looked ordinary, Hill looked very good, Hardaker should be in the squad but as the back up full back and shouldn't ever get near the centre spot again, but I did say that leading up to the game elsewhere. Charnley needs to come off his wing and do more work like Ryan Hall. Cudjoe looked good but got cut open badly once in the 1st half. Apart from that he put in some big hits and scored a good try.

It's a platform and let's face it, at least 2 Burgi will be in that team, a Ginger Graham, a Widdop and probably a Reed, not to mention Hock and Watkins. I'd also like to see Shaun Lunt get the 2nd hooker role.

So say S. Burgess and Graham are the starting props and G. Burgess is on the bench, would you have Chris Hill as a 4th prop?

You shouldn't bother putting Reed in there. If Cudjoe went alright then have him and Watkins. Reed has been average since his rookie year.

And I'm guessing Rob Burrow must be quite a bit down on his finals form in the last few years.

No, Hill would be in the squad but Crabtree would be the 4th. It depends where Sam plays though. As for Reed, he will be in because looking at last night, with Watkins injured he didn't pick another centre. He played a full back there.

A lot can happen but my team would be:

Tomkins
Charnley
Cudjoe
Watkins
Hall
Sinfield
Myler
Graham
Roby
Hill
Hock
Ellis (looked good last night)
S.Burgess

Lunt
G.Burgess
Crabtree
Westwood

And the 6 remaining squad players would be:

Hardaker
Reed
Widdop
Farrell
Walmsley
O'loughlin

Harro, do you think any players played their way in or out of WC selection ?
i would definitely have Hardaker somewhere in the 24 man squad i think he is a quality player. Charnley on the other hand dosen't look to have any attributes to make it at that level, not particularly big or strong enough imo.
I'd rather Tom Lineham.
I don't like how McNamara went with only 3 props, even though the 3 went well i thought it would've been handy having Walmsley coming off the bench for some impact.

McNamara will defo play sam burgess at 13

I would think so.

You would put Hill and Graham starting props. S Burgess 13. G Burgess and Crabtree on the bench.

Or if you want to use Graham like the Bulldogs swap G Burgess and Graham.

Hardaker should be no where near the national team.
Ratchford does everything better than him.

I rate Hardaker. Should be in the squad, and I'm happy for him to play centres, but i'll leave it to you guys to discuss that, those who watch him every week.

Will Crabtree be in the 17?

Would agree on Ratchford, but I just don't think MacNamara is into him at all. Maybe if he played for Leeds...

If England don't have Widdop at 5/8, the selectors would have to have rocks in their heads.

Someone who performs week in, week out in the NRL is better than anyone in the Superleague.
