Ozv GB at the old wembley in the early 90's was something else!

Unbelievable to think we played Aus at Wembley in 1990, 1992 (+ 3 games in oz), 1994 & 1997!

Now we're lucky if we get one game somewhere between them every five-ten years!

Be nice of they had a mid season break in NRL and SL and toured in June/July instead of Nov. Be much nicer to visit UK and France lol
Yeah, it's a crime that we haven't played you guys since 2017. Hopefully (fingers crossed, RL loves a false dawn), the administrators here are serious about locking in the international calendar

The funniest thing watching English test marches is the before and after of English fans

that World Cup semis final against Samoa being the prime example
The funny thing is watching a swans fan run down the international game.

Well we've at least got a plan till 2030 so just now need to stick with it and maximise the opportunity!

Why would you support the swans when you are from Perth

samoa and tonga have huge potential to be tier one nations. Png and fiji too

all these teams hav e huge Improvement in them

And there lies a fundamental issue with the international schedule

Kiwis should go in 2024
I dont mind it, if we want second tier nations to grow they need to be touring not just playing one off games in Aus and NZ.
What would be good is if another nation was touring france at same time and they both played one more game against the other

eg
Eng play France in a warm up
Eng v Samoa 3 games and Samoa v France
PNG v France 3 games and Eng v PNG

Thats a 5 game Int season for Eng and France

3 games a year hardly seems enough! (only 2 in the pacific championships if you dont make the final)

Excellent News for the pacific cup

England can play France in France or combined nations

staying home is better preparation for a sh World Cup playing the best nations than travelling to England

Damn! I can completely understand Samoa's decision but England need some certainty and match play every year against quality opponents.

Hopefully NZ step in to replace Samoa or if not, they come down under two years in a row and play here.

The crowds wouldn't be great and the competition not as strong but maybe France and Lebanon if England stay home

No chance nz goes rogue

obviously samoa spoke to Woolfe who warned them off touring

the development of the pacific cup is the most important thing for international rugby league

Maybe Australia could tour England in 2024 with a return tour already booked by England in 2025.

A NZ, Samoa, Tonga Pacific cup will be hugely popular in NZ, PNG promoted to make it 4 teams and can host their matches. Aus to play NZ before leaving for the UK

I could live with that

but it’s not happening

potentially png if they want someone from the sh

or combined nations again

a strong pacific cup is important for our tv deal

the nrl is trying to grow international rugby league that should be the priority

we can develop 6 to 8 very strong rugby league nations

You're probably right. England need to come here then. Take the 4th spot in the top tier Pacific Championship.

Surely though Samoa's decision will spark a common sense return to the Four (now five) Nations.

Championship: Aus, NZ, Eng, Samoa, Tonga

Bowl: PNG, Fiji, Cook Islands, France & Lebanon

Yeh that’s the best solution

England playing here regularly against the best teams will do wonders long term for their development

great idea

Basically our world cup nations playing min 4 tests each a year which would make the world cup so much higher quality when it arrives with established rivalries and player combinations so much more cohesive for the lower ranked sides

Well the 2030 calendar agreement lasted long! Our games management is fcking useless
Yeah I'm gutted. However as I said above, hopefully this is the catalyst for England to join in what's being built in the south.

When they do lock in touring sides, they can stay home.
