haha, if I listene to music because it was "cool" my CD collection would be very different to what it is now!!

Pretty sure Aphelion and I are the only ones on here that listen to the likes of Immortal, Bathory and Nile.

The probelm I do have with commercial leanings however isn't with the fact that it's commercial or it sells but that music that is commercial or sells usually has a certain sound that I find dull, uninspiring and very, very boring.

Even bands that on the surface appear very different tend are often not very different at all when it comes down to the meat and potatoes.

That's why I tend to enjoy music that's not necessarily instantly appealing because I still want to be in awe on the 100th listen, discovering new things, hearing that 25th layer I didn't notice before, being stunned at the polyrythms on show etc.

I was talking in general there not specifically at you..

The only sound that i hear now days that i really don't like is the american hip hop groups, i don't mind some of the Australian stuff but the likes of 50 cent and Co i can't get into at all.

Must be getting old i think :)

Yeah, I mean how generic is it?

Listen to any "R'n'B" artist in the charts and they all sound identical.

And how did that get the term R'n'B anyway? It's just turd.

The only decent new song I've heard in the charts in the past few months has been Incubus. Then again I never watch music TV or listen to commercial radio so I don't really know what's there anymore!!

Well I will admit to not having heard much of Evanescence outside of their singles but a song such as "Bring Me To Life" for example with blatant nu-metal leanings was disappointing. VERY commercial.

They have many better songs than Bring Me to Life. The best single was probably My Immortal, which isn't rocky at all but is a very good piano ballad. The singles are just ambassadors for the album, simple as that. They weren't all great, but they were good enough to lure me in to buy both albums. My opinion of course ;-)

Lucky you  That didn't occur to me.

I use her for pretty every concert i think is probably going to sell out. Guarantees a ticket without the problems of trying to get through on the phone or net or massive lines and wait's.

Costs about an extra $2.50 but well worth it.

I'll be entering the pre-sale. You seem to know quite a bit, how quickly do you think this will sell out? because I need to go. I wasn't a big fan when they last came out and I didn't try to go to see them. Now this is the 'high priority' concert of the year for me.

I didn't get out to the last one but i beleive they sold out. The new album is better then the last i think so it may sell out quickly. I am not going to take that chance though.

If you miss out on pre sale give the ticket agency a call, they usually will tell you how long it took to sell out so you get some idea what lenghts you may need to go to to ensure you get a ticket.

Woo! Over the moon

I got tickets within the first hour of the pre-sale, although the seats for me and a friend are pretty far back, but still I'm happy with glee that I'm going to see Amy Lee (sorry for being cheesy)

No way #-o Just because she shows more skin doesn't mean she looks better. I love Amy Lee  didn't even know who the other chick was until people started to say 'check out Lacuna Coil' after I told them I liked Evanescence.

Myself now disagrees with myself then. Amy is good but Cristina is even better
