Are you talking logos or names? Every new NRL club in the last 50 years has gone with an American style name. Broncos. Raiders, Sharks, Panthers, Titans, Warriors, Rams, Mariners, Cowboys etc. Short of picking something uniquely Australian there is likely already an American team named it. Only Crushers in last 50 years is a non American big team name
gold coast , CHARGERS, GIANTS , Woolongong STEELERS, NFL has told NRL to piss off and stop useing our names many times

and AFL GOLD COAST SUNS, NBL team name phoenix suns

Brisbane Broncos pinched the name from the Denver Broncos its been noted in the Bronco's book its not a coincidence.

I've noticed some teams have taken previous defunct clubs names from other codes whether intentional or not:

GWS Giants - Gold Coast Giants (NSWRL) and North Melbourne Giants (NBL)

Gold Coast Titans - Victorian Titans (NBL)

NBL defunct teams:

Canberra Cannons
Newcastle Falcons
Hobart Devils
Gold Coast Rollers
Townsville Crocodiles
Geelong Supercats (they do still exist in lower grade competition though)
Gold Coast Blaze
West Sydney Razorbacks
South Dragons
South East Melbourne Magic
Sydney Supersonics
Eastside Spectres

I wouldn't recommend rugby league choosing names from previous defunct Rugby League teams though unless they are starting a club from a logo that they were previously known for in the area, for example Perth starting a team and calling themselves the Reds again.

if Adelaide ever did come back, and I really hope they do, the Rams would be best for mine. And to really “ram” it home, I highly recommend the colours of any Adelaide team to the state colours of blue red and gold (yellow). To come here again I believe it would be best to have a relatable identity rather than a random Mascot and colours. Rams has relevance here, and a history of existence (all be it brief).

Other Adelaide potentials that would be relatable in terms of local identity and features I've tried to think through would be..(Not all are necessarily what i'd seriously pick but anyway)...

The Adelaide Valleymen (I always liked the Orara "Axemen" and there's Valleys aplenty. but does possibly sound a bit too country).
The Adelaide Magpies (Port Adelaide were called this before they went into AFL, had to change because of Collingwood. Also would bring some league nostalgia back. Would have to sacrifice the state colours though).
The Adelaide Great Whites (would rub cronulla the wrong way....)
The Adelaide Dolphins (there are plenty here).
The Adelaide Sea Lions (not the most flattering of animals mind you..)
The Adelaide Wedge-tails (ever seen the size of these things? Enormous).

Or to take it to complete ridiculousness...

The Adelaide Churches
The Adelaide Winers
The Adelaide Bighters
The Adelaide Barrellers
The Adelaide Ovals

And of recent reflective relevance
The Adelaide Commodores (they were built here..once upon a time..)

I prefer Drovers. I think that would have been perfect for NQLD.

But I love that logo.
Yeah, the good old Goulburn team. I remember playing against them many years ago as part of a regional tour we would do every year. We'd stay the night and get billeted out to the families of the opposition players.

For the either Western Corridor or Bombers (rename) I think Hornets would be cool, as in the fighter jet.

For Western Corridor it keeps the link to Ipswich without being directly called the Jets. For bombers it's a similar theme but less AFL-y.

wayne benny Bennett , story in the paper, said the REDCLIFFE DOLPHINS are a must next team , and i agree, they have a booming northern brisbane population, huge club, huge juniors, huge money, good team , huge sponsors, ready to go in 2023

But this is all good, but it makes the NRL lazy, coz instead of the NRL creating a new team for brisbane, they'll just be handing out a fake licence, thats just a bit of paper, that just says "you're in"
they need to be involved, i feel they should enter 2 teams there, one being the Brisbane Dolphins with the hand out licence, the other a Western Corridor team that they attempt to create, purpose built club for Suncorp as the 2nd brisbane team, (dolphins can play suncorp for 6-8 games, the rest between redcliffe and sunshine coast)

Colors of Red, Silver, Gold and White
A little bit derivative of the broncos colors but not by much, trying to get that simalarity with the cowboys colors but replacing the navy with red, but still keeping with the Red, Silver as their main colors, while gold and white as the trim or secondary, the golden sun representing the sunshine coast

The Panthers name was chosen by a public survey in the area in 1964, when Penrith were a second division club trying to win promotion. Nothing to do with any other Panthers, and I'm not sure there were any others at that time. It was stipulated that it had to be an animal. The Penrith junior teams had been called the Waratahs before that but the club clearly deemed that name unsuitable.

It should also be pointed out that the Penrith Panthers pre-date the Carolina Panthers by a good 25 years, so maybe the Americans pinched our name rather than the other way around.

Brisbane Wests were also called the Panthers, but that name was not adopted until 1968.
