The Rams were also one of the names the Adelaide Crows were going to pick.

I wonder if the South Australia Shrikes or Adelaide Magpies would be a good fit for an NRL club brand.

Wasn’t the Port Adelaide fumbleball side called the magpies?

So I've made a map for a future 24 club competition, spreading out all over Australia and New Zealand, adding current clubs, and making a few new ones, suited to the expansion area they are in, some old brands, and some tweaks to current bidders..

NRL 4Conference Map _24 teams.png
The competition is split into 4 conferences,
Each club plays their own conference twice home and away, then play every other club once (reverse in following season)
this leaves the comp at 28 rounds per season, 12 games a week
(imagine the timeslot mayhem)

NEW CLUBS

20230110_114909.png
Based in Perth 12 games
Colors Red, Black, Gold, White
Basically a revival of the 1995 franchise, more emphasis on the color red in their kits
Mascot is unique, a Red Kangaroo is a staunch aussie mammal that is tough

20230110_115317.png
Based in Adelaide 12 games
Colors Indigo, Gold, Red
Revival of the 1997 franchise, ditching the color blue for indigo, to defer from other clubs with similar kit colors
Mascot is fierce and represented Adelaide before aswell as its SA state side

20230109_172151.png
Based in Christchurch 9 games, 3 Dunedin
Colors of Black, Yellow, White
A rebrand of the Canterbury Bulls, ditching the red for yellow, to distance from the crusaders
Mascot is strong and had represented in that area, also with the south island scorpions

20230109_172334.png
Based in Wellington 9 games, 3 Napier
Colors Teal, Black, White
Revamp of the Southern Orcas bid, keeping it morso in Wellington than the original premise
Mascot is uniquely original, many clubs wouldn't think of a killer whale as its emblem

20230110_121450.png
Based in Hamilton 9 games, 3 Rotorua (B.O.P)
Colors Red, Black, White
North Sydney Bears relocation to become a North Island team Roaming north Island,NZ
Mascot is the famous Heritage NS Bears, a return to the fold

20230109_172436.png
Based in Brisbane (Suncorp) 12 games
Colors Orange, Chocolate Brown, White
East Tigers Rebrand and changing their original Black to Brown
Mascot is a Sabretooth Tiger, it makes for a stronger type of jungle cat, one that is above all

20230109_174141.png
Based in Cairns 6 games, PNG 6 games
Colors of Gold, Red, Black
A joint bid Cairns & PNG, Cairns based, FIFO the 6 Port Moresby games, Aus Govt funded.
Mascot image from the Cairns "Pride" but as a spin on it, as its a Lion, but the club named "Hunters" after the PNG Hunters, as lions do hunt

There's no real order of this expansion, just thought of having an outline of areas to conquer, and what teams would suit the city or town they are in, my favorite is the brisbane city sabres, means the broncos can push west, and Easts tigers can remain as is

I'd prefer an Ipswich or dare I say it..Logan team. Something to do with aviation to play off history.

Like this a lot apart from the 50/50 cairns&PNG side and the north island bears.

Would rather see one location based sides with exceptions made for the odd game or 2 taken to other venues e.g. the Wellington orcas.

PVL has a jersey, logo and stadium rip-roaring ready to go.

It would be great if a club like the St George Dragons promoted themselves to this market. If they were to change their name to The Dragons then it would be the perfect team to take one or two games to Singapore. We have games at parks in the country, so it's not too far fetched and could help St George and the game generate income from a new revenue stream.
