Just another concept for a second Brisbane team that I hashed together. I like the colours because theres no other team that uses brown (since the Panthers have gone to all black) and the combo with the orange looks cool. Obviously copyright would need to be negociated with the Cleavland Browns in the NFL but I think it's solid.

That's a brilliant concept.. and I think either the snake or the ray have a lot going for them - most notably that they're NOT existing suburban brands like the Dolphins or Jets.. so might have a better chance of getting Brisbane-wide support.. and not just a traditional suburban base.

i don’t think your concept would
get heat from the states, I’d be more concerned about a team a little more closer to home......

Hahahaha yeah, there is a fair similarity but I suppose that’s for the proper graphic designers to work out. I’m just putting in concepts on a forum to get the juices flowing. My me was mainly a google grab with some personalisation.

I suppose the argument could be made that Browns and Taipans are different snake types, lol.

Not sure on the colour scheme but i'd assume is close to white red, gold, & blue to have something close to the old Rams, or Crows
Or have them purple, white and gold, close to storm but without the navy blue, and mainly a white team

Adelaide boy here...cant stand the thought of the Rams being reborn...such an ugly time and memory for lots.
My thoughts on a name come after I did some research on the history a few years ago, with many units being based in and around Adelaide.
So, Id go Adelaide Lighthorsemen, or even better Southern Lighthorsemen.
my 2 cents
bumping my own post for Adelaide ideas. My thoughts about staying away from Rams colours/logos remains the same.
Im more convinced of having something a bit different but totally Aussie.
Still love the idea of the Southern Lighthorsemen.

Imagine having an ANZAC game at a packed out Adelaide Oval for the league...wishful thinking :)

The Adelaide Aces was the first name I ever remember for a SA team. I’ve seen two potential logos which was around 1996, one an old war plane and the other was 4 Ace cards, hearts, clubs, diamonds and spades
I like the Aces name with a Spitfire or something as the logo. Not sure about the 4 Cards thing... Maybe for a second Melbourne team sponsored by Crown Casino....

Nice concept. I like the Cavalry name (although sounding very American). Lighthorsemen is a bit too long. I'm just cringing at the thought of Ray Warren, Ray Hadley or Andrew Voss having to call it in game.

I could also potentially see a number of Defence personnel being offended by it... possibly seeing it as the NRL/Club using the Lighthorse/Anzac legend as a money grab. Could be seen as disrespectful.

In a recent veiwing of a great expansionist GAZF's site i remember he made a new Brisbane team called Jagera Jets named after the area,
The colors were Green, Silver, White
I liked that idea but in keeping a "Broncos" style branding would keep away from any intrust Q cup sides who have the same mascot, i do like Jagera as a name tho, and so in also making a vague geographical area of brisbane (should Redcliffe Dolphins become club 17) what about a Western Suburbs Brisbane team, they already have Wests Panthers, who could be a feeder aswell as ipswich, and a combination of Jagera and Wests, with Ipswich colors

Can we call Brisbane 2, the Brisbane Two's? I mean we all call it that anyway, why not make it official ;)

It's already a thing in sports: the 49ers and the 76ers for example.

The pirates doesn't feel like a Western Australian team, all i can think of is another bland "tennesee titan" or NFLs Tampa bay Bucceneers, (which i like for the older emblem they have) but not the West Coast pirates logo. Its way too new, needs to start off looking like hunter mariners logo or canberra raiders or even los Angeles/oakland raiders iconic logo, before that shiny skull and swords logo they currently have,
Which is why rugby league needs a Perth team that can pull off a better brand than "Perth Western Reds" which was not only very unique, but is etched into memories, League had always gone for the strong logo, the Australian team is the "kangaroos", you'd think union would have got that instead of a wallaby.
Who names a team after a rabbit, a rooster, a ram, a red... we should be looking at the iconing black swan of WA, it's fairly strong in terms of reflection of the state, aswell as a bit of an expansion FU to AFL, with the major colors of Gold, Black, and Red, heritage strip of the old 1995 reds jersey, like the pirates did recently
