panthers only play in Bathurst as the council gives them $300k a game to do so. See how quick they’d pull the game if the council stopped that funding.

NO club is taking a regular season game away from their home stadium unless they are paid significant money to do so.

Nope. council pulls the $300k they get and they’d shift the game back to penrith, or to perth or to whoever will pay quick as a flash. Of course it has side benefits but don’t be so naive to think they see them as more important than revenue.

The QRL's reasoning behind not supporting a national 2nd tier come was having the state with sides in QCup.

Yet as you quite rightly say 2 of those sides with struggle.

That is with only 2 sides running a single side up there, Much better to have Townsville playing v the Warriors etc

Yeah thats what i meant, surely a Mackay deal could be done alongside all the others, why would they send players back to png, when redcliffe has their own reserve grade... its mainly about a 1st grade pathway
