No not yet. I need to see what he does with recruitment also our halves and who he lets go.
That is not his job. Every club has a recruitment and retention manager and staff to support them. Flanno needs this resource to allow him to concentrate on coaching. I understand that such a person would report to the football manager who would consult with the head coach however, we do not even have a competent GM either.

This bloke is not Griffin , nor thank goodness Mary , he is the genuine article . Not only does he have a premiership under his belt , but he understands the calibre of player he requires to take his team to the grand final and win it .

A combination of hardheaded experienced players and the young guns who have confidence and tremendous potential once they have found their legs in the top grade.

In my opinion he is approximately half way there and he needs to be given the extra years so as to complete his goal - which at times is a thankless task . The least we can do is support the man who has given his all for the team , club and fans .

Your right Posm recruitment is not Flanagan's job, but all the head coaches should have a big say who they need. Also some head coaches can attract top players and others can't, that is the big question with Flanagan. I am not sure if it's the coach or the club itself the reason we fall short with buying quality players. The other reason is it could be the tight arse Gordon family that will not help with extra coin. I don't understand why the Gordon family bought half share in the club but keep watching us have struggle with recruitment. If they feel it's a waste of money or lack of interest get out and sell the club.

Flanno is halfway through his tenure and about on par to get us back to a decent level. Make the 8 this year and he should be extended for at least another 2 years for 27/28.

Some in here may disagree but there is a flow of kids brought through by him like Egan, Stewart, LPT, LKT is there now plus there some good kids like Nick T, Halangahu etc on the edge of 1st grade.

The only downfall for Flanno is his son. I like everything he has done but this nepotism may be the only thing that may lose his job. Kyle is a solid player who plays with heart but Saints won't be winning a comp with him in the halves and I hpoe that changes sooner rather than later.

I like what he has done and the calibre of player he has brought to the club is what they need and that is leaders. Another concern I feel is players are not really jumping out of the skins to join Flanno? They are jumping over themselves to join Ciraldo, Ryles, Benji and Fitzy who have won zero and just been assistants. Everytime a gun is available Saints are never in the running. There is a guy named Gus who controls player managers and the media by the looks of things and he will have nothing but bad words to say about Flanno and the Dragons. The only hope Flanno has is the kids coming through and so far so good but to see this through he will need another year or 2.

Griffin was extended too early and we had to pay up.
Mary was extended too early and we had to pay up big.

We have not overcome our inconsistency as yet and I wouldn't be rushing into resigning anyone.

And this "daddy I can play 7" stuff rubs me up the wrong way.
Jowls McGoober was extended many times.
Circle-Head Price, Jowls McGoober & Peter Griffin.
The real creme de la creme of NRL coaches.

Unfortunately Mary was not as great a success in his coaching as he was as a player , but there was no doubting his passion for the Dragons .

Tremendous hard running centre for the Illawarra Steelers and NSW and of course his last season or two with the newly formed franchise of St.George Illawarra .

The man gave his best , however he was not quite up to par as a top grade coach . His numerous extensions I lay the blame firmly at the feet of the then board who could not see the obvious , that being his lack of ability as a coach .

Still all in all we did have a couple of good years with Mary , culminating in the 2018 semis . Hopefully the chap we have now will be able to take us a couple of steps further than Mary did .

Willie T is doing a great job preparing the young guns unlike all the last lot of KOE cup coaches who created a plethora of entitled show ponies.

Willie T should be promoted above D Y if and when S F leaves.
