Cheyse is really looking like a great centre. He's manhandled Matt Cooper, Pomeroy and others marking him quite often.

He has indeed manhandled his oppsites lately, though I believe he was marking Colin Best tonight.

He still misses a few but that's just because he loves coming out of the line. Given his early defence on the wing I wondered if he'd make it as a centre but he has looked very good since moving in.

Ben Smith stiffened that whole side of the field up tonight. f**k we've missed him. Also allowed Sandow to go back to that side and Ben Roberts to play on his preferred left side.

Must have been watching a different game to you champ.
But when a team takes their captain and best forward off so he can rest for Origin, gives away shit penalties, throws crazy passes, kicks the ball like donkeys, and fall off tackles left right and centre, I think that has a bit to do with the result.

The Sharks dominated the first half, and only due to some poor options didn't have 30 points on the board. The 2nd half was hopeless. One attacking raid in 40 minutes isn't good enough. Nor is the shocking missed tackle count.

You guys were better than you have been, but a good side (like Melb or Bris) would have beaten you by 30 tonight.

I love how people say if you versed Another team you wouldn't of won... Well hello we weren't, we played the sharks and beat them, if we played the storm or Brisbane we probably would of played a totally different style of football.

I also think our defense in the second half forced a lot of te sharks errors and silly play, and think we deserve some credit for that.

I strongly doubt he was taken off for a rest!

As for the penalties that happens when you're trying to slow down a team who is bashing you at the ruck and the forwards were dominating getting quick play the balls... I thought they should have been penalised more in the first half for laying all over us in the play the ball.

The sharks dominated the first half because of all the ball they had! We dropped the ball on the second tackle in the 20 and scored a try the only other time we were down there that half.

Second half we grinded out and played them down their end more.... that's the aim of the game - if the sharks had less raids in the second half maybe Parra could get some credit for that!

as far as Melb - or Brisbane beating us by 30 tonight the sharks had enough 1st half ball to do that and they didn't so I wouldn't be so sure of that....

GO PARRA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

See, the way I saw the game, the Eels werent in the "wrestle" in the 1st half. They picked it up in the 2nd half, and got on top. The Sharks didn't get penalised in the 1st half, but did in the 2nd, whereas the Eels were the opposite. Standard shit from NRL refs. I'm not sure, but what was the penalty count? I'm guessing very even?

Gallen and Flanagan both said post game that he had a "niggle", and would have gone back on until the last try. Paul Gallen plays through "niggles". Well, when Origin isn't around the corner.

As for the Melb and Bris comment, THAT IS MY POINT! The Sharks are no Storm. Relying on Carney to set up or score every point won't get you far very often. A GOOD TEAM like Melb or Bris WOULD have put you away in the first half, with a comeback of 30 in the 2nd half needed to get close.
The Sharks aren't a top 4 team. We'll struggle to make the 8.

whats with this passive agressive attitude i bet if the sharks did beat us by 40 you would be in here giving it to us deluxe but they lost so instead of that you are in here telling us it doesnt mean anything and the sharks are crap get off the fence and pull the splinters out of your arse

Yeah I found it more than a tad baffling to see Gallen in his robe with so long left.

Turning/defining moment though was hayne stopping that touch finder though. Seemed to shift the whole balance of the game. Was one of those moments in time like Scott sattler running down Byrne in the gf, except I wish we'd win a gf for a change.

We were a much better side with Smith Reni and Fui. Poore did good. Joseph Paulo is a poor mans Glenn Stewart, but he'll do me.

I reckon a big turning point might have been that soft try that Hayne let in just before halftime.

The timing was perfect, so that it could be used as motivation in the sheds. Hayne would have been cranky with himself, and with no-one else to blame might have committed to getting those points back for us - and more.

I thought Hayne invited Gallen to run it too, with his uncommitted body language. Obviously a fullback doesn't want to get stuck on the line but sometimes you have to stop this try rather than the next one.

Well your coach does. Clearly he should consult you on these matters.

Yeah well I just have to admit he knows best; he is a first grade rugby league coach after all.

I don't rate Burt either but if he doesn't play tonight we lose.

Just finished watching the game. Lots of good performances. This game reminded me alot of the end of 2009, especially the performances of Fui and the Plane.
