What is the attraction with autographs anyway? Damned if I'm gonna lay out $160 for a jersey just to have 20-odd blokes scribble their John Hancock all over it.

I'm with you Noyd. A photo would be cool but not interested in siggys.

They should have like cardboard cutouts with them packing a scrum with a hole in the face of the hooker where you can stand behind it and show your face and your arms wrapped around caylo and fui

Ask the kids.

lol

I remember when I was in primary school, we had an excursion to go down to Newcastle No.1 Sportsground to watch England play NSW in a tour match. My mate and I went around the boundary all day getting our hats signed, but some were hard to read so we traced over them with a marker.:lol:

The only signature we didn't go over again with a pen was Alan Davidson's. My mate (who wasn't really into cricket as much as me) had no idea who he was but I knew because he went to school with my dad. He (Mr. Davidson) even remembered my father as well, which was cool.

Well, he said he remembered him anyway, which was good enough for me. :D

FMD these are footballers !!! They are not paid to be PR men.
I understand that some people may think that they appeared rude but truly lets face it... and how can I put this nicely... they are paid to play football. They are highly tuned cattle. That is it. - Surely those who have spent any appreciable time with footballers generally know this !
Sure there are some that have an abilty to have a decent conversation, but most of them are just young kids who got through school on the merit of their atheletic ability.
The club tell them when to eat, what to wear and what to say. Then we put them in a line and tell them to sit there in the sun for 3 hours and sign things.
Complaining because they are not articulate communicators is being just a little too hard on them - they were probably thinking about the latest Play station game or kicking a footy around.
Im sure any perceived rudeness was just that they were probably bored.

No they are paid to not bring the club into disrepute. They are paid to represent the club at sponsors get togethers and fan days but at the en dof the day - they are there for their footballing ability.
We have PR people at the club.

In all honesty Fathead, regardless of what you think they are being being paid to do wouldn't you think that for ONE day of the year, they would be capable of being nice to those of us who pay their wages?
I for one thought that the majority of them did that very well today.
But for the one or two that didn't - (and it seems as though it's the same culprits lately), they should be told to pull their heads in.

On the whole, I think the squad seemed very approachable this year, but the point is, Fathead.........surely they can do that for the one day a year they are asked to.
