Wow Danish, You know you're having a bad day when Bunniesman and Mr Fourex put you in your place....and deservedly so.

Isn't there a hypocrisy in covering your head to make you less attractive to other men then wearing make up? I've asked a couple of muslim ladies this and got the feeling that the headscrarf wearing was more of an expectation on them by their culture than an actual attempt to be less attractive. religion makes people do very weird things! Still its a free world and people can wear and believe what they want.

Any way back on topic, good to see RL players in the news for the right reasons!

Everything in that story (besides the pavlova - not a fan) was great.

Looking forward to the book.

Your ignorance is painful to read. Not all muslim women wear a scarf. El Masri's wife didn't wear one until she was 23.

.... when she got married to Haz

And what she is wearing is completely different to a burka. What she is wearing is little more than a scarf, something I see non muslim women wearing every day of the week.

... except that hers is a religious garb worn to protect a woman's modesty much in the same way chastity belts used to in anglo culture.

And that's besides the point anyway. Noone is making her wear one, she chooses to wear one, she didn't even grow up wearing one.

Her father didn't. When she got married to Haz she started wearing one. Coincidence?

Any muslim woman who wears a head scarf is doing it under coercion of some sort. Whether they were strictly told to wear one by a father, brother or husband, or simply felt compelled to in order to follow a strict version of muslim culture is beside the point given both were created by men.

I was once on a plane next to a muslim couple. Husband and wife. And I overheard him telling her he wishes she didn't wear a burka because he wanted to show off her beauty.

Thats great. A co-worker is muslim and doesn't wear a head scarf either as her parents don't care. Her sister wears one now since she got married as her husband asked her to.

Not all muslim men are dictator husbands. And not all muslim women simply obey their husbands

No they aren't.

The ones whose wives went their whole life without wearing a veil then suddenly began doing so once they got married likely are though.

So what happens if a muslim woman wears the full burka but it has the merkin area cut out of it?
does that even things up in the universe?

FFS...by that logic any aussie woman that wears any clothes isn't doing so because she wants to but because society is forcing her too...

Also, Mrs El Masri even explained why she started wearing the scarf in that article in this thread.

If it really was because of Hazem don't you think their daughter would be wearing one? (Hint: she doesn't).

I'm reminded of when i was walking around Dubai airport. You see these wankers dressed in jeans, a Polo Ralph Lauren shirt and gold chain...strutting around jabbering loudly into their cellphone, their wife trailing a couple of metres behind them in complete silence, covered head to toe in black.

Warped and hypocritical religion.

Theres a difference between religious wear and normal clothes.

Do you reckon you'd ever see a priest giving out holy biscuits in boardies and thongs?

I didn't say she was a prisoner, and she is quite clearly covered all over barring her face and hands in that pic.

All muslim men have forced that lifestyle on their wives/daughters/sisters. The only reason they want to wear it is because it is drilled into them from birth that they have to to be a good muslim.

Embarrassing stuff.

Pretty pathetic, even for my standards.

Lol Danish..what a douche bag!

I think you'd find the majority of Muslim females choose to wear the scarf.. By the way thanks for letting your hate ruin a positive thread. By the way, buniesman made you his bitch!! Not once but 6 times.

My girlfriend wears headscarfs quite often.I guess she is just living under the oppressive yoke of the Pete Cash regime.
