Sure can change your mind but be honest about it.
He should have owned up to talking to Tallis but has now changed his mind as it was said 18 months ago. End of a nothing story.
He probably figured it'd blow over if he didn't react to it. Tallis kept pushing it til Farah had no option but defend himself.
But he lied and sulked, even blamed Mayer at the end of it for not having his back.
Mayer deserved some blame though. he could've stepped in and put this shit to bed, like any good leader would do. Instead he just sat on his hands and let the shit spiral out of control. People believing some dimwitted boofheads 18 month old drivel as being relevant today are what forced farah to defend himself. He was actively avoiding the media to try and make this shitstorm go away, which I believe is the right course of action. By constantly speaking about it, it becomes a bigger issue. Farah and Potter had said prior to Tallis' old news that there was no issue between players and the coach. Yet you and many others prefer to believe dickhead Tallis over Farah. You choose to blame Farah over Mayer. Mayer should have pulled Farah into line. Mayer should have spoken up immediately and put this shit to bed. Mayer should have announced Potter would see out the season prior to the Dragons game. Mayer failed a shit tonne more than Farah did. If Mayer had've told the press that Potter would see out his contract prior to that Dragons game, this shit would not have festered on for as long as it did. and that's a fact.
Our season suffered on the back of that decision to deny.
bullshit.
The incident where he back doored after a loss was weak and I don't think that's captain material leaving the boys in the dressing rooms.
I agree. But that's where Mayer should have pulled him into line. But he didn't. Then Farah went on the footy show. Mayer failed to control his players.
Whatever I beaten it to death. Lets see what happens come 2015.
You and many others are adamant that this is entirely Farah's fault. Yes he acted poorly, yes he handled the situation poorly.
But Mayer is the bloke steering the ship. he could've taken control of the situation very early on and he did nothing for weeks,
The place leaks info to the media like a sieve. Mayer again does nothing to stop that.
Farah was the only person in the club showing any remnants of leadership to that point and so all the media attention went on him, which he failed to deal with professionally.
