Rick Beato was teaching music in the US as a professor before he gave it all away to go on the road as a travelling musician and was in many bands.
He can play practically every instrument on the planet.
He wrote many songs for leading artists and now is a YouTube music critic.
He listens to music then tells you exactly what chords are being played and really gets deep into the song.
He calls these vids "what makes this song great"
I enjoy his interviews.
His interview with sting is cool.

He has a variety of content on YouTube to check out.
This is a sample of what he does.

One Hit Wonders

I though this might be fun. There has been some catchy tunes by bands/solo that never kicked on.
Any one hit wonders that ring a bell?

Here's my first one.

"Pop Muzik" is a 1979 song by M, a project by English musician Robin Scott, from the debut album New York.

I don't like American Country & Western [Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson are an exception]
but I agree Tm, this song is quirky...not bad.

I’ll have a listen to any song, as long as I can understand the words hahaha

Me too :)

I do like that song Tm. I dont mind C&W if it has a melody.
The problem for me is C&W has normally the same tempo and style.
Johnny Cash's version of "Hurt" has an awesome piano and guitar rif and is not like traditional mainstream C&W.
For the same reasons I can't get into the latest trend of African American rap. It's all the same to me.
Whilst their lyrics are somewhat like poetry, it's too monotone and repetitive.
All my children love it though and they are very talented when they sing rap songs, something I could never do :)

Johnny's last interview before his death...
Be aware that this could upset some people.

Who's everyone's favourite singer/guitarist?

Shit loads to choose from, but I do have a special like for Mark Knopfler from Dire Straits.

I'm going to have to say Roger Hodgson and Supertramp.
Their sound is unique and they cut deep because they were instrumental in getting me through some tough times, also my first ever serious girlfriend loved them.
Some fav tracks were "Hide In Your Shell" and "Bloody Well Right"
But "Rudy"..... I never get sick of playing it. It starts off slow and builds up....like a train to nowhere.
