of all the metallica solos (off the top of my hungover head)

The Unforgiven would have to be my favourite.

Also i think Kirk from Metallica plays the most ear candy solos out of anyone. He may not be the fastest or whatever, but the stuff he plays sounds damn good.

Favourite songs of all time = Metallica songs with a couple of shortish verses then 5 min solo... One, Fade to Black, Sanitarium. Awesome.

Comfortably Numb and Time by Pink Floyd are my favorites but any guitar solo by David Gilmour is spine tingling.

For the Free Bird fans out there check out Green Grass and High Tides by The Outlaws.

He is a dead-set legend. I love 'The Hero'. Good call there, JB. 'Resurrection' is my 2nd favourite Brian May solo song (behind 'Too Much Love Will Kill You').

He does an awesome version of 'Diamonds Are Forever' with Kerry Ellis too. If you're as big a fan of Brian May as you seem, I highly recommend purchasing an album called 'Anthems' by Kerry Ellis and Brian May.
