Feleti Mateo and Krisnan Inu sign with Warriors

And your point is?

The reason you couldn't keep Mateo is because you pinched a Dragons' junior in Poore. That's what's happened here. If you don't sign Poore you have more than enough to keep Mateo.

Your club made a decision, there's no hard luck story here, and having a go at the Warriors about it is completely hypocritical.

the fact is players like ben smith, poore, oake and cayless can be replaced as their games are common, but mateo is the x-factor that teams need e.g st george and we let him go

Cant keep everyone.

Just hope that Poore continues to improve. Rated by his peers as one of the most over-rated players in the comp.

Let Poore go as well and we will have money to through around.

Poore is on $350 000. Mateo around $220 000. Inu $150 000

And we can splash out and get anyone really

so there's no chance of us using the money that those guys free up???...
Assuming KK re-signs, I reckon we have a tad under $950k to be divided among 5 spots less the bit of cap space will need to keep to account for payments this year to the likes of Horo and anyone else we may call up.

So if we say straight $900k left, could be say 2 base line players for $110k combined, a $150k player and a couple of $200 to $300k players.

Tell me I'm not dreaming because that sounds over the top from what's been said in the papers. The AGM thread stated that this year we were $40k under the cap so I'll check my estimates off that

we'd probably still have to payu part of his contract anyway.

And given that Cayless is leaving, would need then not just to replace Cayless, but Poore as well.

I also think Poore has been pretty good the last few weeks and is getting some poor treatment from fans.

He is less than a dozen games into his parra career and people are saying let him go

have you got a clue????

lesson 1: you can't just release a player another club needs to buy out the contract as it will still come under the cap.

Lesson 2: he's still one of the best props in the game and his contribution over the last few weeks have proved it.

lesson 3: get a clue.

Between inu mateo and cayless, theres lets say 1mil left in cap space
Add in an extra say 150k for morts and 125k for keatings upgrade
Another say 125 for Haynes
200k for tahu and maybe 50k for poore
That’s 650…plus we’ll need to sign or elevate 3 replacements for the 3 guys leaving that’s about 150 plus mayb an extra 80k for horos upgrade
Leaves possibly 95k from my numbers

Im probably being a tad pessimistic with these numbers

Last time i checked one is a prop the other is a backrower/half......us buying a prop to cover for Cayless when he retires this year was a smart move! A SOO prop came on the market a year early, we bought him because he was available, he replaces Caylo next year, i don't see a problem with that! I don't know how this relates to us buying Poore.

I don't think the Warriors have done anything wrong either, good on them, they got 2 potentially devastating players, problem for us was that the term "potential" has obviously run out in regards to waiting for it......

It is unfortunate that Feleti (and probably Inu) are going but everyone seriously needs to put those knives back in the cutlery draw.

Using Poore as the scapegoat in this is bad form and shows a great deal of immaturity.

This isn't the first time that we have lost promising juniors and it won't be the last and in this case it certainly had been building for some time for Feleti.

All we can hope from those two now is to use this as an impetus to propel the team forwards this season.

Yeah I looked at Poore's signing as a pure replacement for Cayless' spot. The upgrades to Hayne and Morts, and Tahu's signing is what has set us back the most with regards to the cap.
