pathetic management, releasing fui for Kaufusi. Whilst he is a good player, we are back to square one, why are managment s blind that they cant see our cupcake of a captain should be the one shown together with his $400,000 contract!

Releasing Fui for Kafusi isn't going back to square one. It's going backwards.

yes, exactly, worse!!

It is a f**king stupid move, release our most dynamic player for a player not so dynamic, unf**king believable!

The first guy gone should be Cayless, he will be over 30, eating up a big $400,000 of our salary cap and tbh isn't much better then Cordoba.

It is like releasing Darren Lockyer for John Morris.

:lol::lol:

Maybe not quite that bad....

But yes, Cayless should go before Fui IMO...I could quite happily handle a front row rotation of Moi Moi, Kaufusi, Paulo and one of Cordoba, Wright and Horo...

Fui has been quiet all year save a few good games. His forum points are 7 which is slightly above Erics. You guys have hardly rated him. Who says that next year Fui will be back to his old self ? He seems to be missing the angry to me.

Bellamy has played Kaufusi 19 times this year, which is enough for me to say that he ain't no muppet.

Fui has been quiet - especially the early rounds .... but he's been playing better since about mid-season and he's still our best running forward .... we need another one, not a replacement

i agree - he's lost his edge - i can only assume he's been told to calm it down to avoid the suspensions and stay on the field and not risk his paycheck

Fui may be a different player than at his damaging best, but he is in many ways improved:

He is far more resilient, his lateral defence has improved 1000%, more consistent over his time on the field, and spends more time on field after his horrendous run with suspension (which I think he was terribly unlucky with TBH).

He is our best prop by miles. He is also on massive unders. Signing Kafusi would be great, but as Ron says, releasing Cayless could get us two props both better than him, plus keeping Fui.

"Releasing Cayless" sounds easy. What if he's not ready to go to England ? How do you know we haven't already asked ?

and there would need to be an offer on the table for him that would atleast give him pay parity

Kafusi and Fui would be a like for like.

It would be pointless in terms of next year. But he is younger, and Fui aint getting younger - and if we could get someone in to compliment Kafusi we'd be looking stronger come 2010.

I agree it won't be easy. He would be one of the only blokes in the comp on money comparable to what he'd get in ESL (after factoring in relocation and increasled living costs).

Presumably he would also be driven to leave after a more successful season than this one.

Fui has been our best forward IMO. Hindy has got the accolades because, well, he always seems to...but Fui has been the one dragging us kicking and screaming over the advantage line. The reason you think he's been quiet is because he's had to modify his game; rather than a 30 minute impact player who smashes the ball up with all he's got, he's become a hard running 60 minute player who makes 100m almost every game. Losing him for Kaufusi gives us a not quite as hard running 50min player with worse defence.

If, instead, we replaced Cayless with Kaufusi (wishful thinking....*sigh*) we would finally have a hard running front row. As it stands, we look like being behind where we are this year, which can't be a good sign...

Moimoi, Kaufusi and Paulo?

While there are plenty of metres to be made in that rotation along with Cordoba and Wright (Horo is a backrower/centre) our defence will be even less ordinary than it currently is. 45 tackles between the three of them means that Hindmarsh and his second row partner are going to have to make 60 each.

Kaufusi would be a good addition to the squad but a prop who can play 60 minutes and make thorty tackles and fifteen hitups would be needed as well if you let go Cayless.

That would or should be Josh Cordoba.

He has had a couple of years, and really needs to make a step up IMO.

Get rid of Burt to make room for Kaufusi. We've got a better fullback there at the moment.

Why do u have to swap a front rower for a front rower?
