Apparently over night there was madness in the market and players getting bought at ridiculous prices.. Got hacked or something.. Read a bit in the morning but not 100% sure at the moment.

incidentally, i joined Ultimate team last night in preparation of playing it. Going to try to win a div 1 league title in H2H season first though. Got an Aaron Lennon in a pack, pretty cool.

Mate straight up, you don't get it.

I've racked up near 1000 games online between fifa 13 and fifa 12. The bottom line is that the ai on your team continually make crap adjustments when contesting a header, too many times they leave guys wide open or simply run from the ball. Furthermore for some bs reason a bloke with amazing height, jumping and heading abilities gets outplayed by attackers that shouldn't even get close.

Notice how nearly every game involves crossed headers.
Notice how people run down the wing, cut inside and run to near post to draw the defenders to cross to a team mate wide open? It's cause the ai do not adjust. They play stupid.

I'm not saying that you should never try a header goal, but simply stating that players that simply use this tactic every time they have possession are simply looking to exploit the ai.

Ps - both geo and pennywisealfi are two of the most fair players I have seen.

The game isnt perfect, and the AI is definitely one of the big problems at times. and it isn't limited to Defenders dropping off against crosses. Ever had your opposition play a through ball against you only to your AI defender to drop off?, or worse the game changes the player your controlling forcing you to halt?

Also maybe, in regards to your comment in bold, dont you think that maybe if you allow your opposition to cut back in like that, your gonna find yourself a defender down anyway, because defenders will then have to move across to cover for your defensive mistake? do you seriously expect there to be no gaps?

I do get it mate, the games flawed. if you defend in from him and back a little (dont cramp him), you will force him wider and lower the percent he has of finding a free man.

To be honest I consider myself a better defender. I know the game has issues both in attack and defense. My biggest gripe is when passing to a teammate, sometimes the ai don't react and I'm stuck trying to control someone else to make a play at a loose ball.

The defending in this game isn't perfect, but there isn't an ai flaw that the defenders can do to confuse the attacking ai.

I have adjusted to those that play down the wings, but I hope in future this is corrected.

Has anyone ever been one on one with the keeper, dribbled past them, then with an open goal your player does a hammy? Couldn't help but laugh when it happened yesterday, it was to win the game too.

As far as the crossing issues, I've still yet to really notice that as a serious issue. Granted, I play almost exclusively career mode, but I find it more likely to set up goals by hitting through balls, playing the slide pass rule, and just passing it around patiently hoping for a slip up from the defence. I've found crosses in my games to be fairly accurately and effectively handled by defences.

I'm only playing it on iPad. Wish it was a little more feature rich, but understand the constraints of the system. Enjoying campaign mode so far - trying to steer the Jets to the premiership, although for some reason they're without Heskey even with the update :crazy:

Had a really interesting game in My Career just before.... interesting in that there was no football on the ground, as in round ball. Players were still passing, tackling, shooting, but that was... strange and very difficult.

Yeah it's a bug. I had that in online play. I had to delete my files to get the ball to return

Never played Fifa 2000, was more interested in PES back in those days.

Was that really a game option, or was it a mod?

That was the real game - cheats activated though. You'd have UFOs abducting players in the middle of games :lol: lightning stricking players (and literally turning them into rubble) while waiting for the goal kicks to take place lol. Awesome times.

Picked this up for $47. Pretty fun.

I started a managerial career as the Wanderers. Going well, but I have one big issue: I can't sign new players. I scout them, enquire about their prices and transfer fees and whatnot, and they remain on my shortlist. How do I sign new players?

All it allows me to do is enquire or add/remove from short list. I thought the problem was I was outside of the transfer window, but nope - right in the middle of it. It's weird - Krezinger and Bridge are doing well, but my midfield is struggling for pace and skill. I signed a couple of youths to my youth academy, but they're 15 and won't be ready for a while!

First FIFA I've played in a while, but it's good fun.
