Sorry for the click bait

And this is the club statement

The Club continues to work with the NRL Integrity unit in relation to the NSW Police warning this week to Andrew Fifita with regard to his long standing relationship with Kieran Loveridge and letters he wore on his armband in matches earlier in the season.

While the matter remains ongoing the Club can confirm the following:

The player was visited by members of the NSW Police earlier in the week and put on notice that he cease any further contact with Loveridge based on facts the Police had in relation to the latter’s links to other criminal elements.

In talking with the Police, while emphasising that no allegations of unlawful behaviour have been levelled against Andrew, they confirm that they have issued a verbal warning because they are concerned about the potential for organised crime to infiltrate sport through criminal elements and for NRL players to be unwittingly drawn into that web.

Both the Club and Andrew are totally aligned with the police and the NRL in wishing to protect the game from criminal infiltration and Andrew is fully aware of the need for him to accept the directions given to him.

In relation to assertions that letters worn by Andrew on his armband earlier in the season in any way refer to Loveridge being freed the player vehemently denies them.

To the contrary, while acknowledging that he has known Loveridge since childhood, Andrew states, “I fully understand and accept the seriousness of the crime committed by Loveridge, the devastating impact it has had on the Kelly family and the need for Loveridge to serve his time.

“I want to extend my sincere apologies to the Kelly family for any distress caused to them by having this tragic matter back in the media.”

The NRL Integrity Unit has advised that it will interview the player early next week and until such times that this process is complete the Club will make no further public comment.

Well blow me down with a feather.

Its now showing on ABC News24 up here. Includes the token cross to a very concerned young chickie reporter standing outside the Sharks Leagues Club (with umbrella) and the comment the letters FKL are believed to represent "Frenzy Knob Licker" but she said the club won't confirm it.

Also showed interview with Phellenoh.

I think that the bimbo report expects the NRL will blindfold and shoot Fifi at sunup tomorrow morning.

It's reported that the coach Paul McGregor and his team are looking closely at Packer's progress, following the example the Roosters took when they brought in Blake Ferguson back in November, training with the club before being officially allowed to play again.

Fox Sports reports that the Dragons will be looking to put some behavioural clauses in his contract to make sure he stays on the right path.

The team was in contact with him while he was in jail with officials going to visit him discussing a potential three-year contract.

"Do I like Russell Packer as a player? Absolutely," Dragons coach Paul McGregor said back in November.

"Do I think first offence, 12 month jail sentence for an assault is sufficient sentence, yes."

Why do you need a conspiracy when you have the normal workings of the press to explain events
It would not have mattered one iota who the player/club/sport was
It was juicy gossip and it was going to be run the moment they were alerted to it
And they will squeeze every drop from it

Seriously, look at the news ltd and Fox idiots who are bleating the loudest over this beat up.
Tallis, Geyer and Johns spend 3/4 of the week showing what d**kheads they are with their unfunny sketches on tv and radio, then all of a sudden they throw on a suit and everyone is suppose to take what they say seriously.
Sorry you can't have it both ways. The day before our second biggest game of the year against a News ltd own team? Pffffft

I'll tell youse all a funny story - those who live north of the Tweed might be able to back me up on this.

When Packer was about to be released and let back into the world as we know it, the Creepin Jesus was interested and very keen to have his services at the Donkeys.

Funny as it was the only Sunday Paper up here, the Sunday Mail had a two page spread all fluffy and lovey dovey about the reformed Packer and how he and Bennett would or could work together and get his life and his league career back on the straight and narrow.

As soon as the Stinking Stains were in the hunt things soon went very quiet on the reporting of Packers miraculous road to sainthood and full recovery.

Footnote: Moi, I think Packer is a good prop.

THE most frustrating part of this is Fifita puts himself in these positions. He is so f**king dumb, and we as fans have to deal with it.

I don't know if this has been mentioned elsewhere but I am hearing unconfirmed reports that Fifi is not going to display the FKL on his wristband tomorrow night. (Hope Frenzy is not too pissed off)

Apparently and I have heard it off a reliable source that Andrew is going to use the big black texta pen and write on his tape the initials F.R.R.

It is believed that Andrew is a distant relative of Roger Rogerson.

Just as well we've got Gorman running the show, otherwise we would've sacked him long ago, and lost all hope of winning the comp.

BTW, I used to be a Prison Chaplain in Australia - please don't report me to the NRL for 'consorting with criminals'...
