This year if the information in the following photo is accurate however the pics go back to earlier in the year. Why wasn't it an "issue" then?

Beat up of the highest order.

It wasn't an issue then because he hadn't been officially warned by police for associating with K.L. Until now, nobody even knew what it meant.

And Cools is dead right. We have already lost a sponsor over this.

Which sponsor has decided to up and go?

Because if you want to crucify people over lost sponsorship. Then go ahead and take on our captain.

Starting to snow ball in the media, wouldn't be surprised if the NRL take some ridicules action.

I assume Fifita fronts the board next week, they tell him cover it keep away from your mate and anything linking you to him for finals campaign.

Board if have to front media say looking into matter, announcement will be forthcoming within next month.

Following end of season, if damage to club $$ is to great see who we can offload him to, he is gathering a few strikes.

There is mixing with criminials but wanting this guy released is a joke if true

Fine the deadbeat twice what we lost from the sponsor and make him do 100 hours in a victim support charity in the off season. And I've got to ask...surely the playing group and some staff knew what was written on his arm. Everything going on there from now on should be cleared by the media manager or someone else with half a brain.

Crikey its worked so well for young Mitch that the Nein crew last night were talkin' up him being a back up hooker for the upcoming roo tour.

Must be a farkhan great Rehabilitation Centre. Might see if they have a wing to cure me problem of waking up at 3am to have a piss.

This thread is full of a lot of "ifs", "buts" and "maybes" LOL

Why get irate when nothing is substantiated?

I work in a prison, many know that and there a dozens of NRL players visiting every month.

Do people think Craig Field doesn't get visits from ex teammates? Did Danny wicks who is now even playing in the NRL? Russell Packer?

Put the brakes on people, this is nothing. Until it is something
Read the club statement.

Nuff said.
yep

Though fif denying fkl has anything to do with Loveridge is a bit silly in the absence of him providing an alternate meaning for the pseudonym

Footloose by Kenny Loggins perhaps

Club Statement on Andrew Fifita

Fri 2nd September, 01:30PM

The Club continues to work with the NRL Integrity unit in relation to the NSW Police warning this week to Andrew Fifita with regard to his long standing relationship with Kieran Loveridge and letters he wore on his armband in matches earlier in the season.

While the matter remains ongoing the Club can confirm the following:

The player was visited by members of the NSW Police earlier in the week and put on notice that he cease any further contact with Loveridge based on facts the Police had in relation to the latter’s links to other criminal elements.

In talking with the Police, while emphasising that no allegations of unlawful behaviour have been levelled against Andrew, they confirm that they have issued a verbal warning because they are concerned about the potential for organised crime to infiltrate sport through criminal elements and for NRL players to be unwittingly drawn into that web.

Both the Club and Andrew are totally aligned with the police and the NRL in wishing to protect the game from criminal infiltration and Andrew is fully aware of the need for him to accept the directions given to him.

In relation to assertions that letters worn by Andrew on his armband earlier in the season in any way refer to Loveridge being freed the player vehemently denies them.

To the contrary, while acknowledging that he has known Loveridge since childhood, Andrew states, “I fully understand and accept the seriousness of the crime committed by Loveridge, the devastating impact it has had on the Kelly family and the need for Loveridge to serve his time.

“I want to extend my sincere apologies to the Kelly family for any distress caused to them by having this tragic matter back in the media.”

The NRL Integrity Unit has advised that it will interview the player early next week and until such times that this process is complete the Club will make no further public comment.
