FLANAGAN RESPONDS TO FIFITA THREAT

Cronulla coach Shane Flanagan has responded to a report claiming star prop Andrew Fifita was considering quitting rugby league over his Kangaroos snubbing.

Fifita, who’s on contract with the Sharks until 2018, was overlooked for the Australian team for the Four Nations with NRL CEO Todd Greenberg putting it down to his history of poor behaviour.

“Andrew’s got a contract here and I expect him to stay here and do all that,” Flanagan told Channel Nine.

“I understand he’s disappointed with what’s happened because he’s been hammered from pillar to post for a long period of time.

“He’s apologised for it and I think we need to move on and recognise what he’s just done in the grand final scoring the winning try.”

It is Andrew Fifita on the boil, a runaway truck, heading for the line and a match-winning try if he can get it over the line. Who is in the way? Dale Finucane. Who makes first contact with the truck? Finucane. Who goes down like a sack of spuds? Finucane. It is a good five minutes before Finucane is removed from the field.
