Ideal finals at this stage

1. Storm v 4. Cowboys
2. Raiders v 3. Sharks
5. Broncos v 8. Titans
6. Panthers v 7. Dogs

So it's confirmed now that Penrith will play the Bulldogs in the first week of the finals.

If Penrith beat Manly, Penrith will be considered the home team against the Bulldogs, at ANZ. Penrith should honestly rest players. A win means nothing to them now.

Also, if the Titans beat the Cowboys tomorrow, they may aswell stay up there as they'll be playing them again in the first week. Should they lose however, they'll be against the Broncos at Suncorp.

If Cronulla and the Titans win tomorrow, the finals are all set and they could announce the schedule of the first week tomorrow night.

NRL will struggle to take a Penrith home final to Allianz me thinks...

So they cant use ANZ on Sat, and Hoppa cant play sunday...

So they have to play it on Friday, ? that gives penrith a 4.5 day turn around...

Dont be surprised if the AFL decrees that ANZ cant be used on the Friday, to protect the surface.. NRL will probably kow tow to that request as well..

Surely it'll be Bronco night football on Friday, as per usual. But I would LOVE a Broncos Sunday game

A bit hard to rest players when the reserve grade are playing an elimination final on the same day in NZ. Maybe some shuffling of the bench, that would be it.

Surely it'll be Bronco night football on Friday, as per usual.

So long as they are playing the Titans, that would be reasonable. But if they are playing the Tigers, it would be most unreasonable.

Can see them avoiding Melbourne playing Friday

It leaves Brisbane (maybe)- if they come 5th

Canberra- wouldn't mind it

Or

Penrith at Allianz

Those are the 3 options

It's no different to dogs hosting TBH. Both sets of members get the same opportunity for tickets in either circumstance so no difference.

They want to take a Canberra home final 300km north, 63km is nothing.
yeah

just another example of the NRL not being able to organise a piss up in a brewery
fancy giving up their premier venue to their opposition & having to work around them

not as stupid as forcing the Raiders to potentially have to play another out of Sydney team in a prelim final in Sydney FFS
calling them hopeless is letting them get off lightly

I really don't get how people are angry at the NRL over the ANZ Stadium issue.

Was the NRL meant to book every available timeslot just in case? As if the stadium would have agreed to that. The AFL approached them to book the ground for a match that will certainly draw a big crowd and generate money for the stadium. As if they'd let the ground sit empty if the AFL are guaranteeing a crowd.

The Penrith/Dogs game should be scheduled on the Sunday afternoon. If Hoppa chooses to sit it out because his imaginary friend says so, it shouldn't make a difference and the Dogs are stupid for signing someone who could go absent in September.
