WTF? So effectively what you are saying is that the system is only unfair if it adversely affects the Raiders. The fact that the likes of sharks/penrith don't get any games at their home grounds is as big, if not a bigger injustice than Canberra being excluded from hosting a prelim.

As for the bolded part, you clearly don't understand the venue rules. Should Canberra win this week, they have not earnt a home city prelim as you have asserted, it clearly states that you have earnt a home 'region' prelim. Ambiguous I know but that is the way the rules are written.

I support big stadia hosting finals, especially prelims. As usual the NRL have proven inept through inconsistency. AAMI and Townsville should not be ineligible and at least that way the rule would be consistent.

Are you Sydney siders for real ??
I've never mentioned home ground once

It's playing in your HOME CITY near the fans who have supported you all season
All 9 Sydney sides
In week 3 if they earnt the right
They play in their HOME CITY

We don't
It's BS
End of ...

I'd agree with you if they went with the original plan with Canberra in putting it halfway between Melb and Syd. As it is, you guys are too close. That's why Newc and GC have been lumped in with the respective big smokes.

Penrith don't play in our home city! Penrith is a city in its own right!
We are forced to play 'home' finals at ANZ or Allianz!
Stop whinging and enjoy your home final, at least you get one!

Sydney
And non Sydney.
You play in your home city if you finished higher than your opponent.

And for the 421st time u moron.

That's the problem
We're not a Sydney club.
We're not part of the Sydney region.
I don't care if the f**king NRL says we are

They have got this so wrong it's laughable

Actually, it looks like you care a little too much what the NRL says

Who cares? Just go for a drive. Your team is going to need to win away from the safety of Canberra at some point if they're going to win the GF.

Had to laugh this morning listening to Phil Gould on the big sports breakfast trying to preach how unfair it is that Penrith aren't allowed a "home ground" semi final as they aren't really part of Sydney...

I have no issue going for a drive

But
That's hardly the point ...
Thing is you're carrying on like you don't get a home final. You do - this weekend. In your home city as per the guidelines.

You get a home region final in two weeks - like Newcastle that region in NSW & ACT. So you play in Sydney.

Where you were worldbeaters in 1994, mind you.

Ahhhh yeah

No its not ....
Penrith was incorporated as a city in 1959. At that time, four years after electric trains reached the district, it was really just a country town, not much different to Bathurst, Goulburn or Albury, just closer to Sydney. It has a population of 180,000 and is one of five cities in the Sydney region acknowledged on the NSW Geographical Names Register. The others being City of Sydney, Parramatta, Campbelltown and Liverpool. Others such as Blacktown and Bankstown are not on the Register and are thus not really cities, even though the word City is used in the name of the council.

Obviously the NRL's idea of what is a city is different to that of the NSW Geographical Names Register. Like most businesses, they define things according to what makes them the most money, and it's likely this weekend's game at Moore Park will draw more than the 21,000 capacity of Penrith Park. I have to wonder, though, if the score in the Broncos-Roosters game at the 30 minute mark had been the final score, would the NRL be insisting on playing the final between Penrith and the Titans at some ground on the other side of Sydney from its primary audience.

They should reserve the right to play Week 1 and 2 finals at Penrith, Brookvale or Cronulla if they believe they will draw better at one of those venues.

I'm carrying on quite rightly because we should get a week 3 final in our home city if we finish in the top 4 & win our opening final
Like 13 other clubs do
Got it ?
Good !!

I tell you what, lets play it 65km away, on a paddock out the back of Captains Flat. Clearly you think that's fair and reasonable.
