Finals Week 2: Sharks vs Panthers

I want to believe, but Cronulla scare me more than almost any team. Too many ex Panthers and they always fire up against us. Hopefully no one wants it more than Jimmy.

Huge test for Ciraldo. We've tended to fall apart with the ball against well organised, committed defenses and the Sharks are about as good a club in the comp in that regard. That said last night was about the most composed performance we've had in years. If we play like that we're likely going through to week 3.

And the hatred for Gus.

best time to break a hoodoo is during the finals. we have never played sharks in the finals.

Funniest part is we beat Storm round 25 after a long running hoodoo. Warriors smash us abd we knock them out of the finals. Play Sharks week 2 after another long hoodoo. If I was a superstitious type I'd say there's something in this.

Flip of coin for mine but a game Panther have to maintin the lead. Sharks arent great chases but good at grinding it out. More dynamite in Penrith side but more toughness and consistent play in Sharks. Interesting match up thats for sure.

Two former Panthers captains playing for the Sharks. Both of them seem to find motivation against their former club. This is going to be a huge ask. Merrin, Tamou, RCG all need to make an extra effort, for without that we will surely be overrun. I think we should bring RCG from the bench, starting with Tamou.

Roosters got quite lucky really, the sharks bombed at least 2 certain tries, maybe a 3rd?

We do need something extra this week though, sharks are very good defensively.

Well I’ve noticed we’re more willing to put in attacking kicks now Hook is gone, we put in a few nice short ones the other night and some 40/20’s. They’ll be crucial against a good defensive unit.
