Storm also had a fair try called back and Olam bombed 2... Like I said reality is different than on paper
Reality also says that Cleary missed 5 conversion attempts.

Our first ever win at the venue getting smashed with penalties and had 12 men for a quarter of the game.Reality also says that Cleary missed 5 conversion attempts.
So he had a off game with the boot, so what? He is still miles ahead in what Cronk was at this age.Reality also says that Cleary missed 5 conversion attempts.

I think the point was that the scoreline flattered the Storm, not the other way around.
The 11-2 penalty count thanks to referee Smith and 11 player team actually made the Storm look better than they were. The bombed tries and all the guys out was what helped us. In the end it was 5 tries to 2. They had what I thought was a fair try called back. Throw in Olam's 2 bombed tries and it was closer than it should of been
The job of a referee is to officiate according to the rules of the games. Shouldn't matter whether an infringement of the rules occurs in the first or last minute of a game, whether it is a finals game or regular season game.
The standard of refereeing has been in decline since Tony Archer became the main man for the referees and once he passed on the reigns last season things haven't changed for the better given the new ref's boss was made under the Old Mates Act.
My memory is not what is was so forgive me, but in our finals exits in recent seasons I was in Canberra when the ref's had no problems ensuring the Raiders had all the ball in last crucial 10 minutes with some dubious call's in particular against JFH.
I wasn't in Brisbane last year for our heartbreaking 13-6 loss to the Bronco's but where there not calls against us which made life very difficult.
Last night Klein and his lackey's for the most part kept a low profile, given the current edict of minimising the penalties but as the evidence clearly shows Aaron Woods committed a blatant infringement of the rules of being square as a marker and nothing was done about it. I can accept there acceptance players from both sides would be allowed to infringe the 10 but not what Woods was allowed to get away with. That is just wrong. If neither Klein nor the pocket ref saw it, then they should be dropped for there incompetence because it was well spotted by most of the fans in bay 36 including my own son who supports the sharks.
One that sticks out, Whare running away with the ball when Milford ran into Oates and dropped it (and himself) cold. Time off immediately when there was without a doubt we had scored to even up the game
If the play had have been heading back towards the injured player, fair call. The fact of the matter is that the ball was picked up and the player running away from the scene with the only chasers also clear from the injured. The fact that the ref even waited until Whare had the ball and was destined to score before blowing time off really shows the size and colour of the dick that we cop from the NRL at times.I'm still triggered by that. There was no danger to the injured players and we regularly see play stopped only when a trainer calls for it.
Melbourne barely coming up with any errors... we made Cronulla look good by giving them plenty of chances close to our line. Storm also far better in defence.
Oh well, at the end of day, Moylan or not, they ended up ultimately with the same result we did.
Personally, I would much prefer the way we bowed out of the 2018 season compared to their capitulation.
That’s because even though we lost we still f**ked them up physically last week, there were some brutal hits. We gifted that win for the Storm, wrapped it in bubble wrap, applied the postage and handling and delivered straight to their front door.Yeah every single Sharks player was shocking. I'm proud of our boys in comparison.
