That’s how l felt about Newcastle last weekend.
Must admit though, if Nighty plays, that would really a poor call.
Even McIdiot wouldn’t do that ..... would he?
1000% he would.
Hey BTW, does mad monday start in Brissy? 4pm game, finish at 6pm. Pat each other on the back for a great year then hit the GOLD COAST!!! Yeeeew!

My tip for McGregors Team list Tuesday is:

1. Dufty
2. McDonald
3. Aitken
4. Lafai
5. Periera
6. Widdop
7. Hunt
8. Graham
9. McInnes
10. LAM
11. Friz
12. Sims
13. JDB

14. Latimore
15. Lawrie
16. Leilua
17. Mann

18. Lomax
19. Sele
20. Host
21. Nightingale

This is not how the team that plays will look like just those who will he named.

ISP dont play this week so there maybe a few suprises but i doubt it.

Interesting to hear & read what the mighty Mc Fookknuckle has had to say about next weeks game which of course is illimination.
Only he could come up with a plan to play 3 players returning from injury, 2 of which are serious (shoulder & elbow) and Aitken from a hamstring which has been a recurring issue for him.
On top of that he will most likely needle up JDB to the max to get him on the paddock with plenty of others suffering with injuries and now fatigue.
In the meantime he has refused to use the bench properly and will also most likely drop a couple of willing youngsters who are injury free and crying out for more 1st grade time and no better experience to have than semi final footy.
Ready built excuse for him in that he “had to” go with experience but unfortunately the players coming back from injury didn’t get any game time in the last few weeks.

Sorry mate, but your men slowmax and field can't keep up with the pace of a regular season game let alone finals..Not sure if you noticed because you obviously support another team, but we didn't make the top 4. There is no second chances, our best team is required for the next 4 games. Certainly not the time to be blooding rookies! Wowee just as well you're a fan and don't have an input in to the internal decision making process.

Yeh he will either play Nighty(if fit)on JP's wing with Mann on the bench or Mann on the wing with Nighty on the bench.
Sadly, it does'nt look good for Jordan either way. After putting up with Mary and his crap for so long, its now easy to pick what decisions he will make.
He always finds room for Nighty and has all year.

Maybe he has done some behind the scene deal with the Board, that if he made 32 competition points, his job was safe for one more year.
I also find it disconcerting that this all seems to be about McGregor and his coaching career.
Never seen anything like it.

You and others on here are the reason it's all about the coach! You struggle to go one post without somehow finding a way to make it about him. Stop whinging and start supporting, simple as that!

I've never been less confident than this weekend. I cannot possibly see us winning. Add to that talk of maybe nighty returning, thats the cherry on top. He hasn't played one decent game all year yet will push either Nene or Pereria out of the side.
My blood boils.
Thats why Crush we came 7th and playing The Donkeys on their home turf.....worse outcome imaginable for us......especially after we were the pace setters for so long and disintegrated like never seen before....as i said mate I wont even watch the game thats how much I rate our chances.....dont be surprised if he has Nighty at fullback and Dufty on the bench like at Kogarah......McGrexit just has no idea mate when it comes to managing players or their injuries.as I said do us all a favour and go

Mate weve got as much chance of winning next week as I am of winning the 2019 US Masters.....and the most disconcerting thing about next year is if and when we are up the front of the ladder in the early to mid season we will all be thinking here we go again.....mate I feel so strongly about this atm if McGrexit is still in charge of my footy team next year I'm seriously thinking of not watching another game till hes gone

Awesome, a little bit less negativity amongst fans will be a great thing.

I'd love to know what Brian Johnston would think of our desperation to get rid of the muppet, if indeed he knew how desperate things have become for us.

But he's one of them.

Straight Shooter

Yep of course, because it is in the best interests of management to be in charge of a shit team rather than a good one.

Nighty to fullback, that would be something quite special even by MgGregors standard.
However BSE please don't say you will boycott this game. Its your team playing a final. You have to watch, even if it is a bit like a train wreck.
I'll spring out of bed on sunday with a smile on my face, it'll be gameday! One last time......

Thanks for the advice champ.
Your overreaction with regards to any commentary with regards to the coach suggests that you are a delusional advocate of McGregor and his results.
I have been a supporter since 1971 so am not as prepared as you are to blindly accept the current situation.
It seems to me that even after getting flogged by the Dogs at Kogarah on one of the most important days of the season, you still don't understand why people are so upset.
Patronizing me "and others on here" doesn't change the reality of the situation.

You might have been a supporter once but you certainly aren't anymore with the rubbish you type, chief. There's plenty of other teams for you to support, no one wants to hear about your "if I were CEO/Coach". The fact you whine constantly on here shows that you are well and truly under some God delusion.

You have no idea what you're talking about and what true support really means.
You are also not qualified or have the right to decide who is a supporter and who is not.
Mouthing off the way you do actually paints you as delusional angry ant that can't accept reality and cannot be objective in any discussion on this forum.
By the looks of the comments you tend to attract from "others on here" I am not the only one with that opinion.

I know that true support is the opposite to what you offer this forum, it's a fairly simple moral compass. Congratulations on going 2 posts without mentioning the coach, keep it up, big fella!

Returning Widdop ready to lift Dragons in NRL finals showdown
Dragons Den
A packed Suncorp Stadium. An NRL elimination final. 40,000 Queenslanders baying for blood.

Finals return: Gareth Widdop. Picture: NRL Photos/Gregg Porteous.

While this may sound daunting for some, it’s exactly where Gareth Widdop wants to be on Sunday afternoon.

After a disappointing finish to the season, St George Illawarra will head into Sunday’s sudden-death playoff against the Broncos as heavy underdogs. With many experts and fans tipping a meek finals exit, Widdop said it’s a tag the team will relish.

“Brisbane have been playing some really good football, they’ve knocked off the top teams the last couple of weeks and they’re at home,” Widdop said.

“Yes, we’ll take the underdog tag. We’ve just got to go up there as a group, get together and realise the opportunity we’ve got ahead of ourselves. It’s going to be a big game, a big challenge, but we’re certainly very confident.

“We know within the four walls at the Dragons what we’re capable of and what we can do on our day. If we turn up with the right attitude, then anything can happen.”

Widdop will return to the side after a three-week injury layoff and his inclusion is set to immediately boost the team’s chances of pulling off a Suncorp Stadium ambush.

While quick to downplay the impact of his inclusion, Widdop acknowledged his return will free up struggling half Ben Hunt to play with more freedom.

Hunt has copped the brunt of the public criticism in recent weeks, but Widdop expects his halves partner to relish the opportunity to knock off his former team.

“We complement each other really well, obviously Benny’s been under the pump a lot the last couple of weeks. Hopefully I can just get back and take a lot of that pressure off him, because he’s a dangerous player, especially when he’s running the football.

“With myself being out the last couple of weeks, he’s probably taken on more of a halfback role, with Kurt Mann a strong ball runner. Hopefully when I get back this week, it can free him up a little bit and start taking the line on, because he’s a dangerous player.”

The Dragons recorded a confidence boosting 24-14 victory over the Knights to close out the regular season on Saturday afternoon. While the team looked scratchy in attack, the porous defensive line from the previous week against the Bulldogs once more resembled the brick wall we had seen throughout the first half of the season.

After missing 27 tackles against the Bulldogs, the Dragons missed just 14 in Newcastle.

With defence taking on greater importance in finals fixtures, Widdop recognised Saturday’s performance laid an important platform to help the team return to the early season form that saw them ranked the competition’s benchmark.

“It was a good win. It’s always difficult going up to Newcastle on Old Boys Day and getting the win.

“For the amount of possession Newcastle had, especially in that first half, we did a really good job. We got back to defending well, which we have spoken about and in the end managed to come away with the win.

“Finals games are just about completing well and defending strong, it’s pretty simple sort of stuff. You’ve got to turn up with a good attitude and that’s what we’ve got to do. If we turn out with a good attitude and a desire that we want to go out there and perform, then we will.”
