Finals.

Either way, I don't think he was calling a qualifying final a training session. They were desperate to win.

I agree and more problematic is that they showed the rest of the league that you have massive chinks in your armour.

On paper, you should have flogged them and gone on with it, but they pushed you with momentum for an extended period. It was unnerving to some extent.

Discipline is really important and after this game, Ivan needs to tweak a few things.

Also our beloved game throws out these “ act of God” fumbles and ref mistakes etc. All kinds of strange and counter intuitive events.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see a real knuckling down and mistake-free approach for the next game and gf. Put your serious caps on!

Kiks needs to sit down with Jamie Ainscough for an hour.

We also showed the defending premiers are beatable and also have a big choke in them. They where up 10 nil

Bullshit. They are the Roosters, the benchmark. They played well in the second half with a glut of possession, but were never a chance of winning.

They were minus a number of their best and brightest. They were playing broken. They’d been flogged senseless by Souths recently.

With respect, I wouldn’t be over smugging the result.

You had a bad game by this years standards. That’s true as true.

He said in the press conference that the Game was the best training you can have.

He was referring to how we exposed their weakness and they will learn from that.

I don’t think he was being disrespectful, he was basically said that they will be better for the run.

It was a typical Trent Robinson media session.

He didn't pay due respect at all. It is not that hard to say "well done Penrith". His reaction was child like.

Billy Burns is not a like for like for Capwell. Burns should be NOWHERE near the 17 in a finals game..

Both backrowers. And if Capewell grew a moustache they would be very much alike.

He is down my list as well. But adding another middle on the bench isn't ideal.

Adding Leniu rather than Burns would mean we would play up the middle and dominate through the centre. The prop rotation would give us some serious yardage. Every time we have done that this year we have dominated sides and won. I don't see why that is now an issue and we need Burns.

We didn't do it against the Chooks and our forward pack was nullified. In my view it was a mistake. We should have got Kikau off and moved Yeo and kept smashing them. I'm not convinced having Capewell and May on the bench was a good idea. Especially because Capewell isn't in peak condition yet.

JFH and Yeo give you the luxury of being able to have a third prop on the bench if they are as good as Leniu. JFH is capable of covering Yeo if we move him to the edge for Capewell for a spell. Kikau let in two soft tries against the Roosters. Unleash Leniu up the middle, manage Capewell's game and we got this. May can cover every other eventuality.

Precisely. As for Capewell's fitness he needs to play to get the match fitness. He'll be better each week.

Depends what we want to do really. If we want to bash them up the middle then Leinu is the one. If not then Burns would come in but May will play backrow either way

you go the better/in form player at this time and that's Leniu no question

plus if we have Capewell or Martin go down, we've got the flexibility of Fish or Yeo to cover, it justifies Leniu's inclusion even more IMO.

plus attacking them down the middle gives up a good platform for us to give Clez/Romy space for the edges

no brainer to me IMO

This is my hill and I will plant my Panthers flag and die on it. I really can't see Burns getting picked unless injuries were desperate. You'd see Burton or Laurie in the side before him.

Very likely Leinu comes in but that edge defence was terrible. Not sure moving a middle fixes that if Martin or Capewell go down

We've got May, Tetevano, Yeo, Fish who can all go to second rower in a pinch with Capewell starting who was in the sharks 2016 finals run. It's not perfect but you can't account for every eventuality on the bench.
