I can't believe how surprised some of you guys are.Smith has shown his hand all year, what made you think this week was going to be any different? From what i've seen none of our nyc players are anywhere near NRL standard and our NSW cup side haven't been much better.Smiths options are pretty limited.

Walsh and White anyone? Just to name two.

And I don't think its so much the side picked, more so the positions that they're playing when its obvious they're not the best players in said positions.

Panthers beat us 46-12 last year. Im thinking this might be a repeat. Jennings killed us in that game, his too elusive for our outside backs.

You just gave me images of Jennings breaking the line and then running around Wes like what happend against Manly :(

Diabolical stuff that was.

Its confirmed, smithy is trying real hard to get an early payout of his contract.

Getting very strong vibes there may not be a knights reggie team next year. if that's the case, I suggest there will be a lot of players leaving the club.

say again?

you mean the coach is trying to quit us?

I think you're all jumping the gun. I think its just an opinion, rather than fact.

I was talking to an ex Knights players dad this morning and he said the same thing.
We were talking about the reggies playing on sub standard grounds this year in front of 150 fans, and he made the comment that he'd heard there wouldn't be a comp for reggies as such next year.
I'm not sure what the idea is there, but he was pretty sure that's what's happening.
Must be pretty discouraging for those guys to be playing on local grounds with next to no support after playing at EAS previously as the first grade curtain raiser.
I'd suggest that is another reason for falling crowds, I know I used to love watching flegg, premier league then first grade.

I was critical of the Dragons dropping their NSW cup side this year and sending their reggies to the local Illawarra comp but it seems to have turned out ok for them.

I would think, if it were true, that cutting costs would be the driving force behind this.

My earlier comment regarding smithy wanting out of his contract was mean't to be tongue in cheek. I was only referring to his team selections and his persistence with some players are not winning him any brownie points.
