No thanks, did you see his last NRL year?
Funny that he's going pretty bad in union, he won't be in the starting All Blacks XV

Are you saying no thanks that you wouldn't want SBW in this team?? Please give me some of what your smoking bro lol.

Besides the fact he would straight away be our best forward, his commitment to training and his craft might hopefully rub off on some of our boys

Speaking of ex-Warriors and Union (and SBW too)...

Dylan Collier was just named in the initial NZ sevens squad for 2016.

Christ. Is this real life?

I'm really starting to think we keep too many U20's players when many would really thrive in a different team enviroment,so would be better to offload them and buy in a few players from other clubs of course we should be keep the top 3 or 4 but too many seem to get to comfitable where they are and never get much past Reserve Grade.

Agreed, sign the elite 2-4 per year, let the rest go, bring them back later

No kidding? I remember him being slow as shit sliding backwards in the 20s.

Speaking of 20s, this is the last year of the comp isn't it?

The problem is I don't know if we have the coaching staff capable of developing them to their full potential.
They seem to do better when they go off to other clubs.

this.

Feke, Hiku, Taukiaho, etc. our coaching staff probably wouldn't get a job in another nrl club.
also, our scouts are shit.
wayne Bennett said in his autobiography that he hangs half his Broncos success on Cyril Connell, legendary scout who unearthed all their best players.

I'd say we have our hits and misses similar to other clubs. Just it's perceived to be worse here because of our wider net.
Surely we can't expect to keep all those that go on to do great developing ala Taukeiaho
Look at Matulino, look at SJ, look at Packer (prior to his naughties)

Of course not, but you can't miss out on the likes of another Johnson/Matulino just for that reason.

Well you can, if they weren't the standouts at Junior level (SJ was obviously, but not everyone is a gun right through the grades)

"Our scouts are shit" yet those three players you mentioned were scouted and brought into the Warriors system.

Feki has proven to be solid - but nothing worth crying about. They had Locke, Fish, Konrad who they had chosen over him to keep.

With Hiku he should of been kept but at the time they have locke, Fishi & at the timer rated Omar - still overweight and very loose player.

Taukieaho had two broken legs and needed to get out of Otara and grow up.

Tell me who the scouts have missed - got most. Probably for mine is actually ensuring that the 2nd tier of talent because guys like Niukore & Maumalo might be the ones who become NRL players

NAS & RTS are probably the biggest. Roger was in one of the biggest bidding wars when he was at otahuhu college. Nelson Solomona was probably viewed to be the next sam lousi - to big and lanky but has worked really hard.

The other two wellingtonians hookker Sione Katoa & Danny Levi.
Again they had Havili so those players wouldnt of wanted to sign with warriors.

Dont worry i have been very critical particularly during the Ackland times.

But at least they arent just picking the obvious talents like Johnson, Hurrell, Lousi etc

The kids coming through seem much more humble and balanced .
eg Kata, Roache, Lino, Bunty Afoa etc.

I think its more a case of we produce so many youngsters with potential and we cant keep em all

Bromwich, Harris are pretty big misses. (Although I'm glad they went to a professional club with a decent coach).

Melbourne didnt even scout Jesse - they scouted Kenny. Family moved over and Jesse turned up for training. He used to be solid chubby kid for Richmond premiers / Marlins juniors before he left.

At the time the other forwards in his age group probably seemed like better prospects ie Matulino, Fai, etc

Harris was a rugby union kids from Hastings.

Not obvious misses for me.
Biggest thing though not only the system but the characters of these guys.

Both hard working shy and humble kids. Ackladn didnt breed humble players. They kissed their ass and put them on pedestals

Nah, they're misses for me - if a club doesn't see potential in players then they're misses. The simple fact is they're two Kiwis who could be playing for the Warriors but who are starring for Oz clubs - that's a miss in any language.

Harris was a league player in Hastings, he was scouted by a bunch of NRL clubs but he was pissed that the Hawkes Bay Magpies showed little interest.
