Thompson is signed to the Knights for 2025. November 1 is for 2026. Remember?
Hunt, Lomax, and many other NRL players were given a release from their contract in order to play at another club.

Thompson's name keeps coming up because there are a few clubs wanting to recruit him mainly because the Nights are under salary cap stress.

I believe is is the alpha prop we need and that we should do all we can to gain his signature.

According to their fans even terrible players can’t wait to get out of that dumpster fire.

Bloke only played a couple of games for them this year, yet somehow they still nearly managed to win the spoon without him.

Sure, but that doesn't mean the Knights will. Why would they? He's a great player and his twin brother has just signed with them. He is going nowhere in 2025. Also Thompson's name is coming up for 2026 not 2025.

I am still concerned that we may not get an enforcer and the results may not end up being anything but slightly better than 2024. The options are getting thinner...
Me too. Look at the beefcake we have missed Fonau-Blake snubbed us for the toothy ones , ditto May for the bloody wooden spooners. Guys lets get serious, what chance with Flannos track record to date, do we have of plying Thompson away from other suitors.

There's a fascinating segment in the James Graham interview with Flanno, from about the 25 minute mark, worth a listen but I've paraphrased it below.

I could take my foot off the pedal when I was at the Sharks, when I had the Mick Ennis’, and Gals and Luke Lewis, Wade Grahams, Andrew Fifitas. I could take my foot off some weeks that Gal and senior players drove the attitude and competitiveness. Maybe this group, we just haven’t got that killer instinct last year – I think we’ll have it this year. I think we’ll compete really hard and we’ve got to find that killer instinct moving forward

I used to like the think at the Sharks, if I didn’t go to a training session, or if I didn’t go to the game, I reckon they’d nearly get the job done without me. That’s how senior and experienced that group were. Now, if I didn’t go to the Dragons team meeting the day before the Parramatta game and I just put a video camera in there and I just watched that group, I think I’d struggle to think who’s going to talk, what’s the messaging gonna be, who’s gonna be the leaders in that group. Obviously everyone would go to Ben but it just can’t be Ben and that wasn’t, y’know, Ben’s best subject, He was more about follow me when I get on the field. But I’d be really surprised if anyone stood up and we got some really good conversations in that team meeting if it was just players.

But next year, now I’m gonna have Damien Cook, Clint Gutherson and then a lot of other players have had this experience now of “we had an opportunity, and we blew it”. So now when it comes around again hey – we’re not blowin it.

I know everyone's probably has enough of talking about Ilias, but recall an article by Alex McKinnon earlier this year calling out JD for moving Koloamatangi to the other side of the field and away from Ilias and that this had impacted the halfback's game. Assume Flanno will play Ilias on the right side and will be interested to how he combines with Luc

If we sign Ilias the pusti malaka, I hope he is the reincarnation of the late great Tommy Raudonikis for us.

Ahhhh, ATM it's all backdoor Greek to me, especially with Bwaiff involved.

Throw in Nick Tsougranis for 25 and we're all good for a traditional lamb spit roast. Imagine the whole team taking turns basting with olive oil and rosemary.

You can't beat BUNT for the Pusti Malaka award.
