Yea I got told weeks ago from a good source that we were not that interested in signing lodge. So I think it’s all speculation at this point

Other than an official signing announcement from the club, the next best source is the coach.
Flanagan saying this morning no deal has been done with Lodge, plus no deal is likely to be done with Lodge.

Apparently Lodge wants a full deal and we have only offered a train and trial, which is what Manly have offered, so no agreement and Flano won't use the last spot in the top 30 on him so we are moving on...

When the coach comes out and uses that language, no deal will be done with Lodge. A bit of a shame really.

Lodge was the logical option as an extra middle, this new development tells me that there is potentially someone else they are working on or the young players are further developed then he is letting on.

I think Lodge is playing high stake’s poker. He thinks for what he has to go through to play top grade league he is worth more than $150,000 a year and I tend to agree but at the moment no one has offered any more. Against that he can get a normal job but I suspect he would struggle to earn that without some pretty good qualifications which to the best of my knowledge he doesn’t have. Got to know when to roll them got to know when to fold them.

To me, he still has a lot to offer. There are some props in this league on good dollars who are pretty burnt out at the moment. He still has some good go forward in him.

He has a Bachelor of Business Degree.

The club should have been working hard to get rid of Rava and Lawrie If they did this then there would be 3 spots available. Lodge would have been worth the risk if there were 3 spots available.

I am tied of coming into a new season without the cattle that is needed to be competitive with the top 4 clubs.
