Took him eight years to complete. He mentions it in the Bye Round podcast. (Seems they didn’t include a Negotiating Skills unit.)
I think with 4 kids.......29 yrs of age........moving country to get more family support in NZ......playing at several clubs ina seriously demanding pprofessional sport

That is an amazing effort to do your Eco Degree P/T and finish before 30yrs of age !!!!!!

Agree. The guy seems to have a lot of conviction in him. Certainly curious that he has such a choppy career to-date. I wonder if he ‘self manages’.

Even a fat gutted Lawrie plays with more passion than the other three dud middles we also kept.
I went to the Red V members training session today & Blocker looks a lot trimmer than last year, maybe it was the black “slimming” training shirt. Interesting session it went for about 3 hrs including an extended full contact game. Excluding those in black shirts who are in rehab recovering from injuries - Blocker, Fifita & Sloan, the rest did most drills & some participated in the full contact others did more cardio or a circuit session. How good was it to see Cody Ramsey on the paddock again he participated in all sessions but gee he has lost some weight & size, he will need to put a lot more weight & bulk on before he even considers a comeback but he will do whatever it takes no doubt. Cant wait for next month !

I got there late, I didn’t even notice Lawrie. The guys look fit and all seemed good guys when up at the fence. Rava had a blue singlet on, is that a rehab as well? I had a brief chat with Deano he mentioned Rava has had a knee issue.

An older bloke I had a chat with (prob my age) mentioned their was a lack of spark / flair on show in the “game”, except that Suli ? scored a good try.

Sam Brenner was there.

Even saw Choc Mundine at the Club, dunno if he was at training. Doubtful I guess.

The blue shirt was just a separation of the two sides. Basically main team were in the red training shirts most of the time & the blue shirts were the younger players with some experience guys rotated in. Not sure about Rav injury he played in the full contact the whole time in the blue shirt. Blocker did some “sprint” training on the other side of the ground early but didn’t participate in the contact session. If u didnt notice him he must have lost some weight ! 🤣

To summarise - picking up from various sources over the inter-webs:

Out of Contract - End 2025:

Allen
JDB
Egan
Eisenhuth
RFM
V Fifita
Latu
C Tui
Liddle (but has an option for 2026 which can be exercised)
M Molo
Lawson
BMM (transitioning out via the development squad)
Ackers
Glover
Tsougranis

Q: Who gets re-signed out of this bunch during the year?
Lots of question marks still remain over everyone here i.e.
Still not completely sold on Egan until we see how he is progressing in terms of development. Will be interesting to see what can be made of Nathan Lawson (it will be him vs Tui vs Allen). Liddle will, more than likely, exercise the option. Allen may well become a good depth player in the backs or may even put pressure on a starting spot this year (if this happens though he will come back onto the radar of other clubs as well)? JDB and Eisenhuth are now toiler types who Flanno may still be keen to keep around for another year, dependant on how this year goes for them. Michael will probably follow his brother. Not sure what to make of all the others on the list at this stage of proceedings...

Out of Contract - End 2026:
Q: Who do we extend now?
Who gets moved on early/told come 1st November 2025 that they aren't getting re-signed and are free to look elsewhere?
* = thoughts to both questions

Lawrie (*is going to need a big 2025 - will he make it?)

Cookie (*will see out the contract - maybe an additional year if it works for both parties)

F Molo (*likely already out the door - the guys who I am saying need big 2025's will really need to step up as a result of this)

Sele (*is going to need a big 2025 - will he make it?)

Liddle (provided the option is taken *and will see out full contract with possible extension beyond)

Su'a (*at this stage I'd be looking to extend)

Illas (*with Daniel Atkinson coming - needs a big 2025 to sure up any sort of future in the NRL let alone at the Dragons)

LKT (*monitoring development - big wraps on the kid)

Luc (*is going to need a big 2025 - will he make it?)

Mat Feagai (*one twin has already been shaken out - will the other survive a fall from the tree?)

Ravalawa (*tried unsuccessfully already to move on early - second time lucky... Super League, maybe even gets a call during the season coming?)

Sloan (*will develop into our long term full back - gets re-signed and will become a one club man and legend)

Shane Flanagan (*significant - thought this should be included... needs to be our long term coach and will make St George Great Again !!)

In my opinion, the only lock that should be extended is Latu.
Get rid of RFM and huth. One out of Egan and tsougrannis should be extended on NSW cup form with the other back up 2nd row going to halangahu (also off contract at the end of 2025).
JDB and Lawson dependent on how their 2025 seasons pan out and flick the rest

as for 2026. Flanno should be first point of call. Sua definitely, liddle I reckon definitely because cookie will retire at the end of this contract. Flick rav and cake. the rest up in the air

Who do we go after now if Guler is Molo’s replacement? Someone suggested Jack Hethrington I personally wouldn’t mind that he has some mongrel.
