Dragons had actually wanted Guler last year.In what way is Guler an upgrade on either Molo or Lawrie ? By what parameters and in what f**king fantasy land is Guler an upgrade on any of our forwards ? Maybe he's marginally better than Michael Molo but even then you're pushing it. He's another reject that no-one else was the least bit interested in that we've signed out of desperation, a skill free plodder with zero upside. Stop kidding yourself he's anything but. To think he'll possibly be one of our starting props is just an embarrassment. This signing makes the Aaron Woods signing look like a masterstroke.

I think he will prove you wrongsaying he'll go good because we had some good players from the raiders, is the gambler's fallacy
he is a massive plod
I like you respect everyones opinion on this forum whether I agree with it or not. The guy was a Junior Kangaroo in 2017 so he must have some ability, but yes some progress from that level better than others as you can see from the list below. Prop is probably one of the most difficult positions to fill & there are not a lot available for the right price or terms. As I have said in another post I will give the guy a go & respect Flannos judgement & reserve my judgement until the end of the year. Maybe im stupid but I havent given up on Blake Lawrie playing like he did in 2023, injury free, but I dont want someone like Frank Molo who doesnt want to play for us taking up salary cap space & big $$$$$ I would rather give someone the chance to prove himself. Better option than Lodge who is basically the only other option available at the moment.Always good to see a different view point. I think people can have the optimism he ends up like a Liddle, who also had question marks before arriving at the Dragons but has now become a good player. Guler has played in a GF & was on the fringes of a very good Raiders pack. He's also had previous junior rep honours, so has skill & potential. Some players improve by moving clubs or are late bloomers, Vaughan being a prime example.
I understand your pessimism, Frank is more established than him & has had a better career. I think Guler is more skilful & effective than Lawrie through his carries & defence while easily being better than Michael Molo who has barely played 1st grade.
At the end of the day, we need forwards & he was available. He's the right size, has experience, solid character & comes from a system that produces good forwards. It's not a long nor expensive contract, he's a low risk high reward type of play. Unless there was another fwd available immediately that would be better than Guler, he's the best we could get right now.
Like most things in life, perspective is needed.

Dragons had actually wanted Guler last year.
He was actually in talks with Dogs, Roosters, Rabbitohs, Gold Coast & Dragons.
Dogs ended up going with Thompson.
Roosters couldnt fit him in cap this year wanted him to replace JWH
Rabbitohs offered him a 3 year deal with minimum salary for year 1
Gold Coast said if Pahulu leaves they would sign him.
Dragons been chasing him since last year
his been stuck behind Papalii and Tapine who are arguably the games best prop for the last 5 years!!
so he has done his apprenticeship heading into his prime as a PROP.

Could you expand on that? Do you mean personality type? It’s screamingly obvious that Flanno has a ‘type’ - and I totally agree with his preferences.
Perspective and editing skills.
That's all you needed to say (in bold). The rest is blah, blah, I must convince myself, blah.
