After watching Lawson closely on the weekend..............did anyone else think he will take minimum 10 games to get use the NSW Cup?

He was at centre which a great test for him first up .........and yeah a decent challenge to say the least

I suppose Finau and Sloan are a fair way ahead as wingers...........so Lawson is learning in the deep end at centre

Does anyone think he will play NRL in 2025 or realistically a 2026 NRL player at best ?
Finally other people are seeing this. After a decent first trial game people wanted him in our round one squad. I’ve always said there are a few people ahead of him. Long way to go if our back five stay relatively fit, he’ll be lucky to play

Yeah and the best part for me is that we have one of the best young forwards in the game at his age level saying that he wants to be a one club man. That's so good to hear. Let's hope his brother progresses as well as he has.
According to the article his father - who is involved in the St. George junior reps sides - and Jacob are both heavily involved in helping his brother make it, so that`s got to be a good thing. The motivation of playing first grade with your brother has got to help as well.

we need to see him play as a wing but given the makeup of reserves and the players in the squad someone has to play centre down there.

Centre will fast track his development. He seems to read it ok and I’m keen to see how he goes this weekend.

This stood out.

“My goal is to be a one-club man, and this is the start of my journey now. These guys treat me like family and I’m very excited to continue to wear the Red V. Being here in the Museum gives me goosebumps and chills. Just seeing the legends that were before us and how honoured we are to get to pull on the jersey and represent those guys.”

Shows more maturity than most NRL players in their late 20s to 30s. Love the passion especially and respect for the club and its history is amazing

Watching the Rugby League Guru with Soward

Given we have an inexperienced half in Lachlan Ilias do you think we should consider hiring Soward as a halves coach/consultant who can work with Ilias to improve his game, particuarly his kicking game and to work with both Ilias and Flanno Jr to work on fine turning their combination.

Is there enough water under the bridge for Soward after being sacked as NRLW head coach and is the right man to help Ilias achieve his potential?

As far as ex-Tigers signings go, let's hope he's more Jake Liddle and less Zane Musgrove.

Cute video of him getting to training today and meeting his new teammates. By my reckoning the only blokes he's played alongside before are: Jack De Belin and Damien Cook (for NSW), and Val Holmes (Kangaroos).
