Ronald Volkman’s time at the Dragons is all but over with revelations with half needs season ending shoulder surgery.

Volkman only linked up with St George Illawarra this week however scans have revealed a pre-existing shoulder issue which will sideline him long-term.

That will not happen now. Volkman had secured a release from the final two years of his contract with the Warriors to link up with St George Illawarra.

Volkman had been spotted training with the Dragons in a yellow bib which generally represents a player who can train without contact. It is unclear if Volkman will return to the Warriors given the New Zealand club had officially released him before Christmas.

Volkman was signed as cover for the Dragons who had half Talatau Amone de-registered. The Dragons only have Kyle Flanagan and Ben Hunt on their books. They remain on the look-out for a dummy half. Volkman, 21, played five games for the Warriors.

Utterly embarrassing as per usual from this absolute bunch of clowns…clearly NZ knew & no one bothered to do any background stuff
His contract wasn't registered as it was pending medical. They'd have no grounds to terminate his contract otherwise.

So background stuff was being done, albeit slowly, most likely due to specialists being on leave and unable to examine his shoulder.

Don't be so quick to bad mouth the club when in the end, we aren't STUCK with him.. he is gone, no longer taking up a spot in our top 30 or being paid..

This could only happen to the dragons…and possibly the tigers…

True, they did get some value out of Jack Bird, if you consider 17 games over 3 seasons to be value. 17 games more than we'll get out of Volkman I suppose . . .
Never have I heard of a player being signed, then cut before a game was played because of a medical issue. I suspect that the warriors knew and were keeping quiet about it. f**king merkins.
