Flanno's New Signings

I think it is apparent there will not be any "major" signings for next season as we have waited too long to become active in the player market. Any improvement next year will come from better coaching and conditioning and perhaps from some our of junior talent performing above expectations.

Agree twinketows.

Plenty of rumors no ink singed yet. Still on long way to go and Flanno doing the hard sell and to retain.

A few blokes back early which is very promising. They didn't throw the towel in late last year so results should go north.

It's up to the current mob to stop the rot and open the welcome sign again.

It would be Ipape OR one of the braileys .. nevery going to get more than one of those three ... Ipape would be you think the easiest given he is not playing NRL yet.

Tracey is a strange one ... expected that this one would have happened by now. Wonder what the delay is.

Still in need of a left edge forward.
Connor Tracey still contracted to the Sharks to the end of next year so he falls into the category of being able to negotiate with another club for 2025, however, if the Dragons have approached him from 1 November, under the NRL's new rules, the incumbent club will be told when a player is willing to accept an offer elsewhere. They won't be told the terms of the deal with the rival club, but will then have 10 days to convince the player not to accept the rival offer.

Maybe Cronulla has convinced Tracey to stay from 2025 onwards on a reasonable deal?

All gone quite on Tracy, Braily and Ipape.

Realistic signings and achievable, happy with that.
Always hard to know just how long the negotiation process is going to take.
The amount of dollars being offered, the length of the contract, just to name a few issues.
Following the initial contact with any player, could take a few weeks until the final formal contract is put to them for acceptance and signing before lodgement with the NRL.

We sort of all assumed (hoped) the deal was signed, sealed and delivered to the NRL on Nov1, but realistically there could be weeks of manager and club negotiation (especially if trying to coax an early release), and this is before the 10 day period even begins..

Won't stop me logging on here every day just incase though!

We brought in sniffer Sailor - He was a success

Melbourne experience and motivated to do well.

We need depth. We are only a injury from being thon as litmus paper
Sloan doesn’t appear until late in the first half of the season. (Not that he can play / should be a Olympic sprinter )
Scott would be a good get.
insert arguments here…..
Thought Sloan will be ready from February onwards ?

when a bloke is so unfit his lateral movement is that of a slug any improvement in fitness will actually have a positive impact. Bird for limited minutes should improve, turner will just occupy Treigh Stewarts reserve grade fullback role until his contract winds up (unless we can move him on).
Also with Bird, if his body cannot get through a season, he most likely has respect for Flanno and will retire.

Freeing up more $. But I hope he has a cracking season.

This is slightly false, Cronulla gave tracey permission to negotiate with other clubs before seasons end, he was negotiating with us before November 1 and was allowed too.
